Can someone explain to me what this filter does?
I park my car outside and oftentimes under a tree, so I get a lot of vegetation debris that gets into my trunk and under my hood. I try to clean it out fairly often.
One place where it tends to congregate is on the edges of my hood, near the windshield. There seems to be a filter on each side of the area there that catches most of it, but I have no idea what it's filtering. Anyone know? |

It blocks stuff like leaves and crap from entering your fender area where it can just mold up and bio degrade in that area causing your car to stink.

As there are oaks and poplars bordering my driveway, I try to clean the filters monthly - more often in the Fall.
Unfortunately, the design could use improvement since they are rather difficult to empty without spilling some of the debris into the drains. Tom |

You could always buy a wet/dry vac. Very versatile!

Kind of funny. You're pulling stuff out of it, wondering what it's filtering. It's filtering exactly what you pulled from it. The whole point of it existing.

Well I meant what it was filtering FOR, as in what it in that little hole it was covering. But looks like I got my answer regardless thanks everyone!
