Touch up paint
Mixed trip home tonight....
Cool part: drove along side a blue 135 cv on the 405 in heavy traffic at the El Toro Y. Nice car if you are on here... Not cool part: couple miles later traffic is moving at about 45 mph and I'm in the fast lane, next to carpool. All of the sudden I catch a car very close to me in my side mirror and instinctively start to slow. Good thing as a second later this blue Honda Fit crosses the double yellow and sverves right into my path. Had to break hard to avoid his rear and at the same time hear this horrible noise coming from my left side. Not 100% sure! but my guess is that the Honda kicked up some crap that was between the yellows and it caught my rear panel. Left several scratches and one decent size deep chip, I guess at the initial point of impact the driver appeared to be a teenager with another young guy next to him. Both looked back pretty scared looking and he then went back into the carpool line at the next entrance. Pretty pissed my new to me baby already got a scar, but what can you do... Karma is a bitch and will catch up with this asshat... So my question after this rant, where is the best place to pick up touch up paint? Dealer, collision place, online? I have a 2011 jet black 135. Thanks guys! |

Langka works wonders on large chips. Dr. Colorchip is good for tiny and very small chips

That sucks!
I need to do a few chips as well. Between the two, which is better? I'm somewhat surprised that the dealer option isn't the best.

I had a good experience with Dr. Colorchip on my daughter's Saab. Never tried it on a BMW, though I would consider it on the future.
The chips on the Saab were many, but smaller. Don't know if Langka would work beter on the larger ones. I think that a lot of the color-match depends on how faded/oxidized the original paint has become. The Saab was pretty decent in that regard, so it was a good match. |
