HPFP Failed at 6900 miles...

2010 135i Coupe, no warning 6900 miles, it just mis-started and stumbled in a parking lot, and we got a yellow light. Car wouldn't run over 2000 rpm, kept stalling. Luckily the dealership was 2 miles away and we could get there in first gear.

So they put it on the computer and confirmed HPFP failure, they are replacing it with an "updated" pump. So the pumps are newer than the one they put in the car in September 2009? My car was built then and delivered in October 2009.

Can anyone confirm there is an updated pump in the last 9 months?

So they keep changing pumps while trying to figure out the problem? Re-man 933 sounds worse at first, but maybe it is an advancement ?

So they put in a 933 pump and new software (1-day turnaround) , the car feels very very good, I think better than when it was new. I did notice a slightly harsher idle but the power delivery is very linear.

We'll see... this is in Rockland County, NY

VERY IMPORTANT

Guys please report the HFPF issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association..Here is the link.

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/Complaint.cfm

The more complaints they receive the more likely that they could force BMW to issue a recall and fix this problem once and for all.

There is also an online petition to get our voices heard about the HPFP problems with our cars..PLEASE spread this around..get as many people to sign as possible.. I just did

http://www.petitiononline.com/fixpump/petition.html

Also this problem is finally starting to get some media attention so we need to make a stink to the rest of the world and not just here on the forums. Check this article out...

It's a good thing, perhaps, to apply pressure to BMW to find a solution, but for now there is no solution to be had. No solution = no recall...
