So, a few years back I replaced my stock exhaust with a BMW Performance model. The new exhaust didn't have the exhaust flap that the stock unit does, but it did have a post to locate the vacuum hose ( or whatever it is) that activates the flap. A few months ago I swapped to a MagnaFlow cat-back. I had a shop do the install this time, so I didn't think about the vacuum line, but today I was underneath the car and noticed it just dangling. Other than zip-tying it out of the way to look neat, is there anything I should do with this? Does it need to be plugged up for any reason? Thanks.

My exhaust shop plugged it (don't know if it's necessary) then folded it once and tied it with 2 small zipties.
Edit: so that's what that little post is for on the PE. I guess my exhaust shop didn't know. Me either.

I would think you want to plug it. Otherwise it must represent a vacuum leak.
So tell us how you like the Magnaflow vs the BMW PE?

When I did the Golf Tee mod I just put the open end of the hose on one of the downward facing posts/screws from the chassis, fit perfect and it's still on there with my Berk race exhaust.

Think I used a 3/16 vacuum hose plug on mine. Then tucked it away into the rear bumper paneling.

You could just use a screw the right size. Screw it into the end and zip tie it up out of the way. That's how I did it on my old BMW f800gs motorcycle when I removed the charcoal canister.
