A small roadtrip through Scandinavia (and a little bit of Germany)
Sorry for the lack of english skills.
Me and a friend had a little roadtrip through Scandinavia, and a little bit of Germany last week. We had planned a longer trip, but there just wasn't time for more. I drove my e81 1-series, and my buddy drove a e85 Z4 2.5Si. We started early saturday morning, and came home eraly wednesday morning. We drove a total of 1882 km (the Google map counts the ferries aswell). Ready for take off. The first part started in pouring rain from the west coast of Norway, and a cross to sweden. This took around 8 hours, without any stops at all, except for a ferry crossing. Total of 442km (we barely have any highways in Norway). First stop, a shopping mall in Sweden. Only norwegians shop here, as the prices are waaaaaay lower than in Norway. * We then proceeded to Gothenburg, and stayed the night there. The next day we proceeded further south in Sweden, and made a visit to yet a "famous" shopping mall. Just upon arriving, my brakes became very hard, so I had to change the vakuum pump. I knew this could happened, so I had a spare with me, but I was kinda hoping I didn't have to.. After an hour or something we where back on track, and we drove to a Ferrari and Maserati dealership (which is quote rare for me). As it was sunday evening, the shop was closed, but we had a nice look around. Anyone knows what this is? And then we proceeded across the Øresund-bridge to Denmark. We ended the night in Copenhagen. The next day, we continued further south, and took a ferry crossing to Germany. I have a small thing for car ferries. This is also one of very few operative train ferries left in the world. Unfortenaly, there wasn't any trains on this ferry. Me! One more car to have in my BMW toy car collection Prius ferry: Germany! The bridge over to mainland Germany: We then proceeded to the German town Flensburg, right next to the Danish border. A little shopping for my garage fridge (on can of coke is around $0.40 here, while they costs $3 in Norway). A quick wash: We spent the night in downtown Flensburg, and started the next day in pouring rain again. After a few hours, the weather cleared, and we had a nice drive through Denmark. A nice jacket in a Danish mall: After a few stops in Denmark, we had a nice cruise up to the ferry back to Norway. * While waiting to drive onboard the ferry: Onboard the ferry. The ferry is an overnight ferry, and takes around 10 hours. Good bye Denmark! Another Norway - Denmark ferry (there is quite many of them). I did a whole lot of GoPro filming aswell, so I may make a short video someday. |

Thanks for posting. Looks like a really fun trip! (other than the vacuum pump R&R!) lol
Dackel PS: Flensburg is very well known to most petrol heads... bc it's where the German national registry is located for ALL moving driver violations. lol It's also been said that this "traffic office" creates so much paper waste, that they send the paper to Denmark to be recycled and it comes back as that really rough/sand paper-like toilet paper!! Really - No Joke!!

Nice post mate! I've taken the boat from Calais to Dover a million times, especially as a kid. Your photo of the ferry reminded me of that.
Cannot believe you stocked up on Coke, as I assumed it was cheap everywhere... |

I don't know what that Ferrari in the foreground is, but it looks like someone traded in their McLaren for a Ferrari. Nice pics though! I regret not doing tours like that when I lived in Europe. |

Yeah, let's not start with car prices... I could get two e6x M5s for the same money that I paid for my e61 523i in other countries. The only things thats cheap here is diapers. |
