Any pics of the dry carbon finish? I might want to go that route if I can see some comparison shots.

Great question and sorry for not specifying more clearly! The diffuser in the pics is 2x2 weave with REGULAR finish. The dry carbon finish is a matte clear coat that has no shine. Please look at pg 4 for pictures. Thanks for your order once again!

All I have currently on this computer are some iPhone pics of some dry carbon finish parts, but they will do the job at least for now!

Your order is confirmed - the official GB list is going to be posted now. We apologize for the delay. If you (or anyone else) has received an invoice via email, your order has been confirmed.

Your CC will be charged along with everyone elses the day after the GB closes. We won't charge any cards until then.

Shipping to Canada in your case (to your specific area) for Mirror Caps won't be more than $10-15 - so no need to drive all the way to the US to pick them up

^ The matte clear coat doesn't look bad at all! I'm considering I might want this instead of the default gloss finish.

iCarbon,

I've ordered my parts with the matte finish, but I sent you a few questions about it that I was hoping you could answer. Other's might be interested in your response as well, so I might as well post the questions here.

Is one finish easier to maintain than the other? And if I were to wax the matte finish would it then appear glossy? I just want to make sure I'll be able to protect that finish.

Thanks

^ +1. Also, is the matte coating just as protective and durable?

Also, does the matte finish prevent discoloration over time? Nobody likes yellow CF.

Thanks
Lucas,

Sorry it took a little bit to reply - we've had a CRAZY last couple of days. We'll reply to your PM here so that everyone can benefit from the response.

Both finishes are as easy to maintain. Reason being that both are clear coated, it's just that a specialty clear coat is used on the "Dry" finish that causes it to lose it's shine. They are still protected and clear coated, just not shiny.

If you apply wax to a matte piece, it would not look glossy - it will shine a little bit more possibly, but not any glossier.

Regarding protection and discoloration, both matte and gloss clear coats will protect the same. The only difference is visually one finish is dull, and the other is glossy. That's really the only difference!

*** Please remember that the DRY finish is ONLY available on CF products - it's irrelevant to FRP because it's going to be eventually painted by the end user anyway.

Hope this answered your questions!

Hi iCARBON

I'm actually after 2x2 REGULAR finish instead of the matte finish that I ordered. Is it still possible to change? I'm order #26.

Thanks for the response, I'm glad the only difference is the looks.

sounds good, and I understand you are in extreme busy mode w/ all this questions and pms.. but can you make sure you ship by USPS to Canada?
because I would rather pick those up from states if you ship by Fedex or UPS.. they charge us arm and leg for their broker fee/custom duty tax etc....
let me know if USPS work for you for us Canadians....
and thanks again for great products for great prices
I luv this dry carbon mirror cap
I can't wait for the wheels as well

Yup! We can do it via USPS, not a problem. I just made a note of it in your order. Thanks!
