PCV Install
I just installed my RB PCV. The PCV fits snugly into the cover (didn't need to force it in but it's held in firm enough that it doesn't fall out when I turn the cover upside down). Should it move freely inside the cover?
Now, I started the car (first time in two weeks) and gave the car a couple short stabs of the throttle and the engine stumbled and stopped. I checked for codes on the JB4 and there weren't any. I started the car again and tried another couple revs and it kept running. Could the car sitting dormant have caused it or have I done something wrong with the PCV? Thanks for your advice.

Ok just took the car for a good run. It seems all good now. I've done some logs and sent them to BMS just to be sure.
I'm thinking (hoping) it was just that the car had sat still for two weeks and not waiting for it to warm up before poking it with a stick proved to be optimistic. One thing I did notice while the cowl, etc was all off was that there was a discernible click whenever I revved the car and it was coming from the PCV area. Not a rattle but rev and click at the same time. Is this the PCV opening/closing? Or something else around that area that I've never noticed before?

Me too. It's a bit fiddly and you have to be patient but all you need to remove is the "flapper" check valve hose (which is a pain in the backside itself).
Getting the old PCV out takes a decent tug.

No amount of wiggling gave me the clearance to take the cover off without removing the fuel line so I had to remove mine.

It would definitely be easier with the fuel line removed. I get a bit nervous with fuel (moreso concerned that the line is put back in too tight/loose rather than ignition) and preferred to work around it.

I had a small box end wrench that pit the PCV housing which made it easier and meant i didnt have to remove the fuel line. I would avoid an adjustable wrench on the PCV housing though, its only plastic and will strip easy.

And after the install and being happy with the result, I'm now thinking seriously of getting a 1M. Makes me wonder why I bothered!
