Alpine HID V3 reflection pics

For those on the fence about which way to go to upgrade your AE's I'd still highly recommend the HID version of the upgrade to you from AlpineMSS's Alex.

I'm surprised you haven't run into issues with the Alpine's yet. I know a few local cars that have them and they have nothing but problems. Flickering, not powering on, to much heat hitting ballasts, etc. I'm personally waiting until the reviews come in on the new Burger BMS LED's that they just put on the website for 100$.

BTW, Is the HID AE stay the same brightness even when you turn on the headlight?

yes it looks good for now, but come back in a few months when you have flickering, non igniting bulbs, and other problems no doubt about it according to reviews.. but it's definitely nice for when they do work, if you can be hassled with changing them out when they fail

So Alpine didn't fix the problem yet? I thought they have v3 now... I was thinking to buy it...

I like all of the people who don't own the kit who are chiming in.

According to Alex, I'm the first and only person who has had any issues at all with the V3 kit out of the hundreds sold. And this was because I was a little sloppy reinstalling after a dealership visit and let a cable rest on the hot parts of the engine, where it melted. Alex still sent me a replacement cable free of charge, even though this was all my fault.

The inner ring will always be brighter than the outer on these cars because of the design of the headlights. The lighting tract hits the inner ring first before going to the outer. The only reason other bulbs appear more evenly lit is because those bulbs aren't as bright in general, the the difference isn't as exaggerated when the total light output isn't as great. I've never been flashed or pulled over because of my V2 or V3 kit being too bright.

I know everyone has their own brand loyalty, but in the close to 4 years I've owned my car, I've gone through nearly every Angel eye option out there and I am simply happiest with the Alpine kit. Only upgrade would be replacing the whole headlight housing with a sonar/depo kit, or a custom job to replace the actual rings.
