Aftermarket rim HELP!
Hello all!
I need help from all you guys. After months of research and countless hours on the internet i feel like i am getting no where. I am trying to find rims that are lighter than stock for my 135i and simply can not find a set that i like. Im looking for a set that i can get in either all red or black with a red lip (all red being first choice) is poissible. My biggest problem is that i do not want ANY rubbing at all and i dont want to have to modify my car to prevent it. I also need to find tires to match... Can anyone help out? or am i being too picky?? Thanks in advance!! |

first i think you need to know what size you want.
how much do you want to spend on the rims and then the tyres. sometimes rims are cheap but tyres are EXPENSIVE.. there are alot of black rims even with red outline available these days. |

Thanks for the help guys! I have seen the Breytons and am strongly considering them. I also found the O.Z. Alleggerita HLT because i can get them in red. Anyone have any experience with these rims? Also, i was hoping to run Michelin PS2s.

Those OZ offsets (40's i think) will probably rub unless you take some action...you're better off powdercoating the bretyon's...also totally red rims? Sure that's gonna look good?

Well dang those are out then.... And im thinking so... I saw a black 911 a few weeks ago with red rims and it looked SICK. But Im really up for anything. To be honest id take functionality over looks. I dont mind the powdercoating but ive heard it weakens the wheel??

You want the offset number to be on the high side around 45 or so but it depends on the width.
Have you considered powdercoating your stock wheels whatever color you'd like and slapping on some good tires rather than the run flats? I'm pretty sure all other tires are lighter than the stock run flats. Also, have you seen this group buy: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=397845

how about THIS! I'm planning to get these wheels for my 1M when it gets here (not in this color combo). They're light, strong, custom offsets, and will come in any kind of finish you can dream up!

VMRWheels,
I am open to either 18 or 19... my biggest issue is i do not want to deal with any rubbing issues as i had a previous car that did and it absolutely drove me insane. Plus i intend on owning my 135i for quite a while. |

Well i broke down and went to a local shop and looked at some rim choices. What we came up with were Niche Sports at 19X8.5 on all four corners. Anyone ever heard of this company? The guy i worked with also suggested i Put 215/35/19 Pirelli M&S Neros on all 4 corners. Anyone have any thoughts??

There is no reason to go square on a non winter setup. I've heard of Niche but only in the late 90's and always thought they were kinda ghetto but that doesn't mean they're shitty wheels. Also, there is ZERO reason to put an all season tire on a 19" wheel. It just doesn't make sense. The tire guy sounds like he's a little clueless. Where are you located?
