JB3
Ok, so I should be getting my JB3 in the mail on Tuesday and I wanted to see how to "program" it. I have read that you install it and then you take the car out and drive the piss out of it so the tune can actually get a feel for the car. Is this true, or is the tune an instant thing? Thanks!

Great...Thanks! I'm taking it that you have the JB3? What do you think? Do you have an 08 or 09?

Oh yeah what if you add more stuff to the car (ie downpipes) after it has already been installed? Does it continuously adapt?

I have an '08 and was the first (second to Terry) to install the JB3. Best performance mod for the dollar out there. As for the other mods, you can add on and the car will adapt accordingly.

I think WOT will allow the computer to adapter faster. If you don't do it, it'll just take longer. But then, what the hell are you doing with a JB3 when you don't WOT your car? Trust me, you cannot resists flooring the car after you installed the JB3. And after you've tasted the power, you can't stop WOT whenever possible. |

my JB3 milage went up on the highway... Naturally around town I am in the gas more than not... but I took a ~600 mile trip with the jb3 and got about 2mpg better than OEM programming... albeit, it was cooler this time around.
Anyway, install the chip, drive the car... I noticed more power after the second day on a cold start... might have just been all in my head though. |

I think JB3 should improve mpg since it has a better (imho) throttle algorithm. I got less mpg just coz I changed my driving behavior. Before JB3, I shift at or before 4000rpm, after JB3, I shift around 6000rpm :headbang:

Mileage while learning for me went WAY down... cruising on the fwy at 70-75 I was watcing the miles per tank remaining literally drop a mile every 10 seconds...
then yesterday I took off for a little day trip, 178mi remaining, drove about 60, then came back same 60 but on country road, and when I got home car still said 178mi remaining |

Best bang for the buck mod for the N54 hands down, after we had our Pin-Out Version JB3 installed ** By the main man himself, Terry ** as soon as we got out of the neighborhood we opened pandora's box and let loose like a bat outta hell. A few WOT pulls is all it takes, it also assures that everything is installed smoothly.
