Don't see the difference having it on a M or non M... if anything, it's more ricey on a non M?

Possibly. I like the stock look on most cars, but if I had both a 135/125 & a 1M I'd be even less inclined to fark with the 1M aesthetics than with the 135/125. To me, putting a pretend carbon roof on a metal roofed car is (almost...) akin to putting a fake bonnet scoop on.

Maybe I should have used my 2nd login to post something so controversial...

Might be, but either way, it is to get the 'carbon' look.

well IIIIIIII like it :P

actually the look i was going for wasn't the "carbon" look. i think the two-tone, black and white solid colours actually work quite well together cosmetically. I've noticed a few companies have begun to integrate it into their stock cars as well e.g. MB and peugeot.

I would have to agree with you though that getting a carbon vinyl wrap is too fake, and too much for me. Carbon is somewhat revered automotively, and if you want the look it should be the real thing. it actually was more of an effort to find a simple gloss vinyl rather than a carbon vinyl, all to avoid the embarrassment of the facade.

I happen to think that the black or carbon roof looks anything BUT ricey... When I think of it I always think of german cars...

I agree however that the carbon vinyl look is a bit try-hard but real carbon is sexy and the black roof on a white car is all class...

ChrisN, as long you like it, that's all that matter - your car, your look - I think that's the individuality thing everyone harps on about.

I think your car looks really great, the bits and pieces complement each other quite nicely. I personally really dislike the carbon fad - the intention is light strength to putting it in places that don't serve this, is a bit of a shame but I do understand the appeal.

I love a proper CF roof!
