Houston Gearheads HELP!! Looking For Walnut Blast
Hey Yall,
Dealership wants to charge me $1200 to have my intake valves walnut blasted. You know where i told them to take that offer. Someone please offer me some advice on where I can get this done. I HATE THE DEALERSHIP |

I had a buddy of mine do my 60k mile maintenance and clean the intake valves.
All new gaskets with labor included was less than what they asked from you for just the intake valve cleaning. He didn't do a walnut blast tho, he went the soak method. Suppose to get pictures of how severe the carbon was. I'll post em when I do. |

where did you end up going to get the walnut blasting? i just bought an 08 135i with 55k no it and im looking to maybe have it done.....but 1200 bucks it out of the question lol. i am located in houston as well .

I took mine to BMW of Austin. With the BMWCCA membership, they give 20% off EVERYTHING *Edit, I doubt that includes cars, but service, parts etc.... I think i paid about $650 for them to do it.
I'd try another dealership. Aren't there multiple in the Houston area? |

I have what you need to do it, you can rent the set up from me for 40 bucks over the cost of the equipment and Ill give you the equipment cost back. I just did mine 2 weeks ago. Amazing difference, all the pictures are accurate, though mine had 60K.
I recommend you go ahead and change the plugs while you are in there. If you cant find anyone let me know I could find time to do it for you for 400 bucks. |
