Those are really cool products! They're just a little too pricey right now, hence I'm swapping a 135i cluster into my car... ($99)

So i wasn't sure where I would put my Aquamist HFS3 gauge whenever I get around to installing it. I found a three gauge holder that goes in front of the shifter, which I liked so I bought it. The question was, what were the other gauges going to be? I did not want to wire up sensors, especially because this is OBDII and most of the data is already gathered.
So I opted for a PLX system that plugs into the OBDII port, and then just used power and ground. I installed that tonight. The final gauge I think will be an ethanol content sensor. Anyway, here are some pictures. The PLX module sits just below the gauge and has plenty of space in there. Some parts required: I used an add a circuit for the power wire, which was easy and clean. 20180307_192517 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 2018-03-06_10-43-12 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180307_195152 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180307_195222 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180307_195209 by Matt Bender, on Flickr |

Installed an ebay lip. It says it's for 08-11, but idk why a 2012 would be different. From other pictures, it appeared to fit very well, but not so much on mine. Either way, it looks pretty good. And I wasn't going to be spending $350 or more on a carbon fiber lip that would eventually scrape on something or break. So for $99 I'm happy.

Took a drive with my friend's C5 Z06, all stock. From a 60-120 ish roll, he had me by a fender. The stock turbo just ran out of steam in the upper RPM range, otherwise it would have been closer. His car pulls hard up top.
Then we snapped a few pictures: 20180331_133844 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_133925 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_133906 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_133932 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_134315 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_134905 by Matt Bender, on Flickr A few more mods were done. I removed the stock rear trunk spoiler and added a carbon fiber one from ebay. The fitment is perfect and I'm super happy with it. I bought it Tuesday and it arrived here Friday, even from Taiwan. 20180330_180212 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_141015 by Matt Bender, on Flickr All cleaned off and polished: 20180331_150055 by Matt Bender, on Flickr Installed, love it: 20180331_152431 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_152329 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180331_152352 by Matt Bender, on Flickr Next, I changed out the stock side markers for smoked LED Depos. OP, your car looks absolutely fantastic! I have to order new side markers soon, and I don't know whether I want smoked ones or clear ones... Seeing that deck lid spoiler is very suggestive, now I really want one!

Wheels finally arrived! Perfect fit with no spacers, no rubbing. 235 up front, 265 in the rear. MPSS.
Before installing, I coated the wheels with C5 Wheel Armor. I will let you guys know how it holds up. 2018-04-16_06-04-53 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180424_151126 by Matt Bender, on Flickr 20180424_224902 by Matt Bender, on Flickr While I was at it, I painted the center bub portion of the rotors, they were rusted and looked awful. A quick scuff with a red scotch-brite pad and some high temp paint, all fixed. New wheels look great!!!
And Apex has stud kits for $125 that have a bullet nose that I prefer compared to the square nose of the ECS kit

Thanks guys. I was thinking of lowering it but the height looks just right with the wheels.
Now I need to decide if I want to do an E30 tune and meth injection...... I have an aquamist setup just laying around already. |
