close windows/sunroof with remote
Has anyone figured out how to do the inverse of holding the unlock button on the remote for 3 seconds? That is, to be able to do what every E90 owner outside the US is able to do? I missed my chance during ED to have a dealer in E. Europe do it for me, and now that the warm weather is starting, there have been times I would have liked to have full functionality of the remote controls. Anyone who may have hacked the s/w module and and work with an independent shop that has the DIS tester hookup to reload the code? Since it's been the same story for years with all BMWs, has anyone who lives near the Mexican or Canadian border taken their car abroad to a shop that can *easily* perform the dead? One would think that some folks have figured how to bypass the idiotic-sue-happy-preventive configuration with which BMWs get shipped to the states.

On other BMW cars you could do that by inserting the key in the door lock and turning it to lock and holding it. Don't know if that will work with this new key fob setup.

Yes , with your key turn and hold will shut everything.
Key fob wise, NO......only with bimmers that come with alarm installed. without alarm = Just goes down but never come up. |

I have a self install alarm, and no, the fob doesn't close up the windows. The key on the door lock will, but that hardly would qualify as 'remote.'
The thing is, there are times I want to have the windows open to avoid the inside from getting too hot when I'm near the car. Yet in a given moment, I may have to leave it unattended for a brief moment, and I always have to carry out the mind debate: should I just leave it as it is and hopefully notl regret it, or do I need to waste the time to approach the car and lock it up?. I wish I could just hold a button as I walk away. With so many BMWs out there, one would figure that some people have reconfigured their car to the way it was originaly designed. |

LOCKING: If I lock with the FOB and hold the Lock button the windows/sunroof do not close - just the doors lock and alarm activates. If I lock by touching the door handle (Comfort Access) and keep my finger on the handle all windows/sunroof close and the mirrors fold. If I use the key and hold the key in the lock position it is the same as locking with Comfort Access. UNLOCKING: If I unlock with the FOB and hold down the button mirrors unfold and all windows lower, but sunroof stays closed. If I grab the door handle (Comfort Access) the mirrors unfold but windows do not open. If I unlock with the key and hold the key in unlock position mirrors unfold and all windows open except for sunroof.
