Alloy Wheel Suggestions for E82

Hi All,

I've had my E82 for around 10 months now, and the one thing that I'm not the biggest fan of are the standard SE 17" alloys that it came with.

I am planning on buying a new set of alloys after the new year but I'm struggling with deciding on what style/colour/brand to go for.

I quite like the different types of CSL style alloys as I think that they really suit the E82. I am also struggling on deciding on a colour for the alloys as my E82 is in BMW Bluewater and there aren't many in that colour online that I can find to see what would suit it.

I'm mainly looking at 18" alloys as I currently have the car on the Bilstein B12 kit so it may be difficult to fit 19" alloys to it without any rubbing

I'm based in the UK and my budget would be around £1000 for alloys + tyres

All suggestion are highly appreciated.

You can maybe see if there are any other BMW wheels that you like the look of (and will fit the 1): http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/

Also check tirerack.com: https://www.tirerack.com/content/tir.../homepage.html

You probably don't have TireRack over there in the UK, but it's a good site for window-shopping!

Many here are very satisfied with Apex wheels and they are advertisers and supporters of this site, too.

Here's mine with Apex ARC-8 in Anthracite:

BUY 5 WHEELS. So many guys buy 4, damage 1 beyond repair, can no longer buy that style of wheel and then are stuck trying to sell 3 wheels.
I always like to use OE BMW wheels because they are available used almost forever.

Only problem with 5 wheels that crops up is if wheels are staggered. Now you need 6. But I agree with philosophy. Esteban convinced me of that a few years ago so I now have 7 Style 313s (which do take up space, but I have less anxiety).

The Apex wheels mentioned above are made specifically for the 1 Series so if you find a style you like there will be no fitment / brake clearance issues. I also went with the Arc8's in Anthracite. Wanted a square setup for handling and ability to rotate tires, so : 8.5 x 18 et45. Allows you to choose from 225's up to 245's in width. Also worth noting,if performance matters, BMW wheels while nice looking are heavy. My stock wheels were about 25 lbs. , the Apex were 18.2 . Big difference in unsprung weight.

APEX makes nice wheels, but I feel like OP gave us a $/£ amount he's trying to work with and y'all are just ignoring that. You won't get Apex wheels with tires in the £1000 range. Look for reps. They're all over eBay. 5x120 18x8 ET35

Not all reps are bad, and if you're not tracking your car or driving over mega potholes, you're going to be fine. Not everyone can afford to be a purist and that's okay.

Good luck brother!

I'm really digging the Sportline 8S, similar in style to the 163M CSL wheels but with proper E82/88 fitment. Flow forged about 20 lbs a piece and not crazy expensive either.
