Picture Request: SGM with BLACK/SGM GRILLS
Please post pictures here of your SGM 1er with modified/painted grills! I'm having a hard time deciding between stock... black... or maybe even trying to paint them SGM (as inspired by the member who did space grey on space grey)
It would be greatly appreciated! (And a good reason for you to post pics of your car! ) |

These are not my car. I was doing research on this a few months ago.
Hope it helps! http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ht=sgm+spoiler http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ht=sgm+spoiler edit: the bottom thread has the best pic.

I'm in the same boat. The Shadowline trim looks great on the side of the car, but I'm undecided on the grille. The Shadowline grille tends to look better on high contrast cars like red or white. The Space Grey painted grille looks amazing. I wonder if there would be any issue obtaining some SGM paint now that it is discontinued.

I'm stuck on what to do on the front of my BSM car with chromeline trim also. I'll probably just get some 128 kidneys.
My other choice is doing something like I saw one SEMA car do (they sold the altered pieces later). For me I think this would probably involve getting matte black kidneys then painting the outers mercury silver to match the wheels I'm getting. Then I'd also paint the louver in front of the brake/oil cooler vent the same silver color...maybe..lol. What really bothers me is the intercooler grill. But about the only option is mesh and I don't think I want mesh in my kidneys. |

Here's an odd pic, I'll admit, but the shadowline grilles are the way to go. CF spoiler is a must too.

I'm sure it's available. SGM cars are going to get dinged and they're going to need to be repaired. They aren't going to repaint a SGM car a different color if it gets repaired.

This is true yes, but I was wondering if you would be able to easily find/mix a can of the paint (excluding touch-up paint) if you went to a dealer. Body shops would obviously need access to buy and or mix the paint to repair cars.

I agree. shadowline grill is the way to go if you have the shadowline trim. Otherwise the grill just looks out of place with the chrome on it. Just my two cents.
