1M 698 has been sold.
Moving up in the car world. It has been fun fellow 1M owners.

Sorry to hear that, but hopefully for something that will make ye happier. Just broke 10k on mine . Oh well. Got it to drive it. But the daily driver is my Sierra crew cab. I've been enjoying the M just a little bit more now that it's paid off.

I was #1 on list for M2 at local dealer but couldn't pick M2 over stripper 1M. The interior is Spartan and feels pure. Real sound, no display, etc. so I'm back!

I don't plan on selling mine at this time. Im still under 9000 miles. The only car on my radar at this time is the BMW/Toyota Supra concept, but I doubt it will be limited and will not be as raw as our 1M and cost way to much. I bet it won't come with a manual tranny either.

I still have mine. About 30K miles on it. I rarely drive it as I daily a 2007 Cayman S now. Of course I love the 1M, but the Cayman drives much better to be frank. It's more raw, has more feedback and is easier to drive quickly. What it lacks in practicality it more than makes up for in fun! No plans on selling the 1M as it's a great weekend car and it's held its value well.

1M pure
75000 miles and going strong. Bought it to drive and I have and still do. Miles and miles on track. Smiles and smiles every day.
#1 on M2 list #2 on M2 CSL list Decisions. Decisions. Think I'll keep the 1M.

I'm still here. I'm first in the list for an M2 but I'm thinking I'll drop down and wait a few months in case a CSL is confirmed. The M2 will be great. It just won't be as rare or special as the 1M.
I might get a JCW Mini for a year or two until I decide on my next toy. |

Just had 32K (miles) service, and now becoming a bit of a garage queen; was on list for GT4 but gave my spot to a friend and bought an A3 as my DD (commute is very boring expressway drive). Thinking permanent still. Unlike Blue55 I find 1M to be much more fun street car than Cayman (can't say about GT4, tho!) and E90 M3.

At 18,500 km and did the last service before warranty expired..pretty much just an oil change.
Love the car, hopefully I can keep it long enough to give to my kid one day. |

30,000 miles here. I lurk here on a daily basis.
I have been watching the M2 threads lately. Not because I want one, just because it is like re-living the buildup to our 1m. I was stationed in Germany and went through the whole back and forth with Military Sales. Will they or won't they offer it while checking all day, every day for any sort of teaser or news on what the car was going to be. Frustrated on the days when I was told it would not be made available and excited on the days it was a possibility. I was actually on temporary duty to the DC area when I got an e-mail from the dealer: You will not believe this: 2 production allocations for the 1 M for the entire 1 M production cycle have been given to the BMW Military Sales Program today. It is a onetime exception from BMW USA and no further slots will be given to our program. YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE TWO PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! I need to chat with you ASAP to firm up how it will be built. It will build in JULY!!! ___________________ Of course, more slots were eventually given, but I can't tell you how excited i was to get this message. It was like winning the lottery. I spent 2 years with the car traveling around Germany. Stored it for a year and then went to the nurburgring during R&R from Afghanistan. Met some forum members there that helped ease me out onto the ring (thanks again for that, one of the highlights of my time in Germany). Shipped it out to WA State when I returned to the US a few years ago and now taking it with me to NY State. I went through periods of thinking I could sell it for much more than I payed and get myself a Cayman or F-type. But we have too much of a history together. And the car is truly everything I want in a vehicle. |

Had a Golf R on order from the end of 2011. Waited and waited and waited...... all the while looking at and driving M3's thinking maybe I should just do it. But it never quite grabbed me, so the VW order remained.
Then by chance, an unallocated 1M came along while I was still trying to convince myself I liked the M3 drive enough to buy, so I test drove it and......... had to buy it. Cancelled my Golf R order after waiting 11 months for it to be built and arrive, picked up the 1M three weeks after ordering it and she's still as brutal as she was from day one. |
