Blasphemy! I know. But I'm afraid that is probably the best we can expect after the next generation of M cars (F80/90). Most likely, this won't happen. But then again, BMW did choose to pump fake engine noises into the M5 to pacify the 'purists'

Saab offered something along those lines with their Sensonic transmission.
