VRSF 7" FMIC - RHD N54 Review

The FMIC I bought from VRSF all that time ago has finally been fitted. I decided while my Water Pump was being replaced under warranty, I would get the cooler fitted at the same time. Lazy and lack of time.

I quizzed the mechanic and he said it was quite straight forward installation. They did it via underneath without pulling off the front bar. I told them there would be minimal cutting, but they were a little concerned with the amount they needed to take out. I told them to do what they needed to do, and it all went very well. He did however not like the mounting with just the two screws into plastic so added additional bracing. I was fine with this, after all our QLD roads are pretty shit.

I did a few 3rd gear pulls and the intercooler is definitely working significantly better. I couldn't really compare it to my other logs, as they were done at 15C and the new at 24C. What I did notice was the there was no dramatic reductions in timing etc on the 4th pull due to heat soak. I also run it through Virtual Dyno and power was pretty close across all 4 pulls.

All in all, another excellent product from VRSF.
