Worst Cars you've ever owned
Different spin on a popular topic:
1. VW Golf GTi - MKV (New) - Rubbish African build quality, Broken A/C comp, broken dashboard, mis-aligned doors, leaky windscreen, rattles everywhere, loads of electrical problems 2. EA Falcon "S" (Sucks?) manual (New) - Leaky Welch Plugs, Leaky water pump, Leaky PS pump, weak clutch, no brakes. 3. BMW 135 (New) - HPFP (x4), Lighting probs, bits falling off, Rattly, windows that don't wind up. Having said that, to be fair when it works it is frightening (in a good way). 4. Renault Fuego 1979 (Very 2nd Hand) - Paid 500 quid for it and that was a rip off. Faults too numerous to list, but could poke finger through most body panels. What did I ever do to the French? |

The Kizashi is great! It gets a lot of looks - in fact I've had the M3 parked next to the Kizashi and more people have asked me about the Kizashi! The CVT takes a bit of getting used to and the seats need more support but overall the car has not missed a beat.

Not mine (had 2 Subarus and Christine and they're been great) but one of my parents cars.
Holden Commodore VT wagon. Chewed fuel, often went to 5 cylinders, broken throttle body, 3 starter motors and the door panels (interior) often came off. |

In terms of having to take it back to the dealer numerous times for issues, my 135i wins this contest hands down. No other car has had as many quibbles and warranty repairs.

Same (it's there right now), but I'd still consider it the best car I've owned. Not sure if that says more about my previous cars or my current car...

nissan 300zx about 15 years ago, i think it had been used as a get away vehicle in several major bank robberies before i bought it. It was more clapped out then a pattaya night club. gear box went, engine mounts, belts, bushes, jesus everything just went on the thing, so much i really cannot remember it all. i rebuilt the gearbox myself i had so little money, i was on the phone to my local mechanic every 5 minutes asking for help, he kept saying he'd do it for free to stop the phone calls. best thing i did was sell it to another young kid who was gunna be king of the world behind the wheel of it, in his own mind of course.

Alfasud Ti. One of the best drivers cars I've had but definitely the worst ownership experience. Best because I could drive it like I was running from a mafia hit man at more or less reasonable speeds. Worst because of the atrocious build quality and the frustrating stupidity of design. For eg. replacing the handbrake cable, which was made from overcooked spaghetti, meant you had to remove the engine! I could not keep up with the rust. The body, made from a metal chosen for it's propensity to rust, had no gal' or dip type protection whatsoever. What were they thinking. They say that the worst luck is to have bought an Italian car built on Monday morning or worse, Friday afternoon. Well I think that Alfa only built the 'Sud on Friday afternoon. Do you ever see one these days? They are all now one with the universe, all atomised rust.

I dunno. I kicked up a huge stink at Honda Artarmon and worked my way up to one of the regional managers who was so rude to me (told me to my face to shut up numerous times) so I just gave up on the company, sent my story to TT, ACA and NotGoodEnough and just fixed everything myself (there were 35 issues in total, only listed the 15 that the dealer fixed.)

My worst car from a build quality perspective is also one of the most fun car I have ever owned. It's the first (BMW) MINI Cooper S back. Mine was literally the first car delivered out of my dealership, and in the very first batch that arrived in the country. What a car, steers like a go-kart, supercharger sounds like the original Mini gearbox whine. Loved driving it. BUT, in the 9 months I owned it, it was at the dealer 8 times for some pretty major fixes, like broken seat frame, replacing the whole steering rack, leather wasn't done properly etc etc. None of it was mechanical though, eventhough I flocked the crap out of that car.
As for the OP's list, I have also owned a SA Mk5 GTI and 135i. I reflashed the ECU on the Mk5 from 1000km, and nothing ever broke. I also drove the 135i hard, as it was bought as a track car. It received heaps of mods which are well documented here, and low and behold, nothing ever broke. Sometimes it is all about luck! |

Bet my 1975 Datsun 120Y was more gutless than your 200B. However, I will say the 120Y doesn't qualify for this thread as it was bloody reliable!

Worst - Misubishi Cordia 1800 Turbo... Single line injection caused some niggles and it ran on 3 cylinders fairly regulary.
96 Celica - Pop up headlights didnt work once or twice. Pretty good though. 2000 Celica was awesome, owned it for 10 years from new and only 1 fix in my ownership for the accessory belt pre-tensioner. 135i has been really good so far too, but it hasnt done alot of work (bout 7k Kms now).
