Exhaust cleaning
Hiya all,
My exhaust tips are horrid at the moment. I'm planning a full wash and self-detail for this weekend, and it's about time I sucked it up and got stuck into the tips and visible part of the muffler. Has anybody that has the aluminium exhaust used a cleaner and had it work well? Cheers, Alex |

TRy Autosol "Shine". It's milder than the normal "Metal Polish". Works well on my alloy tips. If you have the black tips then test on an inconspicuous area first.

I just use soap and water with a good micro fiber towel. Then I put some "paint sealant" on then. I can't believe how much better they look(and last!) with some paint sealant on them! I never would have thought to seal them - was it not for this forum!

I use it on the chrome on my truck. The 'metal polish' is a bit harsh. Supercheap have it. |

I use a meguiars metal polish, specifically designed for motorbike chrome parts. It works really well on both the chrome and alloy of the exhaust system. I also use a brush, again a meguiars number, to well and truly clean out the inside of the tips, comes up great.
