Dyno'd yesterday, baseline and tune and lost power on both over stock. I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions.

That sucks. How many miles are on the engine? Were the conditions the same? Are both disa flaps functioning? Have you check your compression to see if the motor is healthy? Every mod the same besides tune and disa manifold?

You're so cute when you get self righteous about your track days.

Also, TIL, Top Gear interest from the mid '00s translates into a pronouncement of driving prowess and/or dynos.

Update:

Salman sent me a new test tune this morning and the car actually started. Notified him and hopefully I will have an updated version in the next few days.

As I have stated in the first post of this thread, I am only sharing my experience with Evolve. Everyone is free to form their own opinion.

I was going to pickup lunch today and my head-unit is starting to act up.
Damn Friday the 13th...

Edit: Stig stop stealing F1 one cars, unless you are bringing enough for everyone.

I've also been killed after driving off an aircraft carrier in a NOS'd out Jag.

Update:

Salman sent me a file this morning, after class I flashed the car.

The car started and I have drove it 105 miles (City/Highway). No "Service Engine Soon" light so far. Idle is a little choppy.

my idle was really really choppy freshly tuned and it still does it occasionally. No idea what it's about but a few revs usually makes it go away. Glad to hear the good news. my SES would always click at almost exactly 50 miles after reflash(when i had o2 issues).

Glad that the solution is on its way. Surprised that its also maybe a result of BMW's own software

Before the software update, my SES light would come on between 18-26 miles.
Post update it was closer to the 40-50 miles like yours.

Right after the initial flash the idle would surge. Would go up and down a few times then almost fall on its face. Now it bounces around like the AC is on when the AC is actually off. I might run through and double check my vacuum lines for shits and giggles.

Hopefully this is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeah my idle would bounce up and down every once in a while when i was in traffic. the more i let it idle, the less it happens. i think it has to do with the adaptation because i've heard of it happening frequently on tuned n52.

Can't say I remember any idle bouncing when freshly tuned. AC has always been wildly annoying though.

Mine may have been more related to the primary O2's and the long term trim adjustment The engine started to lope sort of, drop 200 rpm, raise up to normal, repeat. It shook the car back and forth so it was obvious. It almost never happens to me anymore, but in traffic pre and post o2 fix it occurred more often(IE once every week or two when driving 80 miles a day).

I have over 500 miles on the latest tune from Salman. No O2 codes or Service Engine Soon light. He is supposed to get me another updated tune with a couple performance adjustments soon.

Hi Mark,

you should have an updated and hopefully final file today.

If I get a chance I will be going through the old version to see why this issue was occurring and it's completely fine on the new one.

So I updated my Evolve Automotive software from their website, then I was preparing to flash the newest tune sent from Salman and now it says it is unable to read the USB device. I had the flash tool attached to my laptop when I installed the software so it would install the drivers too.

It never ends.

Here is some of the data logged from my car two weeks ago, this tune is just adjusting the the O2 sensors. Keep in mind this was in a garage on a 82 Degree Fahrenheit day, with no air moving across the car.

Since Evolves most recent software update I have been unable to use my flash tool. I have been in contact with Imran trying to fix this. Car has about 1,484 miles on it with this current tune, other than the one hiccup at 986 miles it has ran fine. Hopefully we can get this flash tool issue (most likely driver related) squared away soon and I can get a little more performance out of this motor.

Edit: For some reason the Snap-On tool thought it was a N51, the motor is a N52.

You VIN checked it to be sure?

Sorry your woes continue.
