Quick noob tire question
edit: just realized i posted this in the wheels and tires FOR SALE sections... ): my bad please move. I'm planning on getting non RFT tires very soon. I know evryons runing 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. My question is, what happens if I run 215's in the front and 255's in the back? this might sound stupid but im dense when it comes to sizing tires. thanks. And when it comes to these which ones would you choose dunlop star specs hankooks yokohamas got a c350 with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18's sumotomos and they actually run very smooth and grip well.

well nothing is gonna HAPPEN like some guy is gonna appear and take your car away from ou but you'll lose a bit of the stock steering feel and will probably get some oversteer (or is it understeer... i can never remember which is which).

While I agree with what youre saying, Yoko and Hankooks have some pretty good tires too (can't vouch for the Dunlops). I drove my S.Drives pretty hard on the street and they performed like champs. No they aren't PS2's nor would I ever suggest that, however, they last 2-3x longer than PS2's and give you pretty good performance for spirited highway/every day driving. If you were on a track 5-10 times a year sure it'd be worth investing in a high priced extreme summer performance tire but for just driving the car hard on the street the others are MORE than capable at that. |

the understeer would be noticeably worse than it already is. If I were you, I'd get the star specs if you want to do any tracking or are willing to sacrifice a little tread life for grip and get the hankook v12 evo's if you want a good tire with a longer life. I like yoko's too but comparable tires can be had for a little less $.

the hankooks are pretty good, so are the yoko s.drives... and they're comparable in price.
