Anyone in the 400+ with the N55?

Anyone has achieved this yet 400+ whp on the N55 motor? if so what mods are they using and do they need internal work. Im looking to hit about 400 to the wheel with out blowing internals. all and every bit of help from you guys will be highly respected.

uummmm not yet.
-the n55 turbo is small - it's a little scrapper but
it's been mentioned it'll max at 360-380whp.
that's with complete bolt on's and tune.

meth is on the way.

i don't think we're at 4bills yet.

n55 with bolt ons is stronger then the m3

with tune, dp you'll be able to give a stock M3 a good run
for it's money. M3 400hp - and we're talk'n whp - add 10-15% to that for hp.

supercharge'd M3 forgetaboutit.

the focus needs to be more like - let's get into the 400whp or 450whp.
and that will not happen till a big single turbo comes into the picture.
and that won't be for awhile.

-i say tune and dp and that's your kicka$$ stage 1 for the N55.

yea i see what u talking about so a AR Desgin DP swap from OEM and a JB3 Stage 1 for the N55 should put me in the mid 360WHP ? i be happy their i drive a lot in the sense of daily drivng i was wondering how much more will a FMIC and a meth kit add to my power. but for sure imma be doing a Tune,DP, and the AFE Power intake.

you should check some of the independent dynos.
This is still the 1st year for this engine and so far
there's been a few hiccups from bmw and our tunes.
adding up power for the N55 from the consumer
side is not like the N54.

340-360whp would be with meth and FMIC. that's still
on the testing side, because there is very few if not many
that have meth on their N55.

Planning is great and all, but it's not going to happen on the stock snail.

N54's with considerably more scalable turbos than the N55 don't even make 450whp with FBO + meth. N54, 420-430whp or so...N55 I'd be surprised with 370-380whp.

450 is asking for much with FBO.

I like the dual oil coolers - which ones are ur look'n at? ARs, ER's
custom setrab oil cooler?

I know of a few people with N54s that have roughly 460 at the wheels. I think everyone is under estimating the N55, but time will tell.

I will... who knows if it will work, but I'm going to try out the COBB when i comes out with my JB+ for the heck of it.

Definitely going to go with ER's with the CF shrouds.

Just got my black anodized charge pipe from ER today and installed it. Overall I'm happy, however, the mounting bracket on the charge pipe did not line with with the bracket mounted to the engine. Let me know how yours goes. I ended up zip-tying that mounting point. I didn't feel much of a difference other than an increased throttle response. Boost may potentially be a little more linear vs. sudden, but can't really tell for sure. It looks cool as heck though!!

Question, when I took off the stock charge pipe, the inside was coated with oil... is that normal???
