Hi Joel.. Yep. We goto Joizee first. That's my stop.

A quick looksee, and as of 90 minutes ago, it was about 200 miles from me, as I sit here! If I took a drive out to Truro, it's soo clear and calm, I might be able to see the spec of a ship on the horizon (actually 150 miles is asking a bit too much to see).

Looks like we'll be fine to dock today, and get unloaded!!

Yes, and they are also reporting winds at 13 kts out of the east and 3 ft seas too. That's more like it. Get your binoculars out. . .

Cool! All of our ships together in a single readable picture!

We should be at port by now. They'll likely unload over night. When we wake up, our new bimmers will be on US soil. Damn Germans invading again!

are there security issues that are keeping our maersk wind from having it's position updated now that it is so close to port if not already docked in jersey? i'm annoyed that the map won't update.

random! that's closer to jacksonville than charleston. i thought the vehicle processing center was in charleston. hmm so it is ... seems wasteful to truck them up to charleston.

first ones there and the last ones to leave. seeing all of our cars coming later will get parked in front of your cars. hopefully they don't park the cars too deep or they might not get yours out in time for the launch

OK, I'm on the Maersk Wind and scheduled to pick the car up at the Performance Center on March 28th. Once it's unloaded from the ship, does it stay at the port, the VPC or the Performance Center until then??

(I want to make sure my "Wish You Were Here..." postcard gets mailed to the right place!! )

Vehicle processing center is in Spartanburg. So is the Performance Center.

I frequently see the trucks from Brunswick to Spartanburg on I-85 north when they come through Atlanta.

Okay so I don't get it, does my car go to SC now? I would assume not since it has just arrived in NJ/NJ and I am in CT. What the hell does my car do now for a whole month??? The waiting is going to drive me insane. My baby is on US soil and I can't have her! GRRR

Oh, you don't want her just yet. They still have to buff out off the Alpine White smudges from your shipmates.

There's a VPC in New Jersey where the cars offloaded in NJ will go. They'll be prepped there and wait a few weeks. Some say they will start shipping out from VPCs on March 22, some say they will ship out before then for delivery on March 22.

We REALLY need an insider at BMWUSA to answer stuff like that.

Thanks Cracka! Hopefully not too much rubbing going on with those cars. March 22 is the day before Easter. That would be fantastic if we can have them for that weekend. Hopefully there will be some news so we can start talking to the dealer about the financial stuff involved. I'd like to know what my interest rate is gonna be and how my owners loyalty is gonna be applied to my deal.

My car is coming into the Port of Charleston Wednesday, and is scheduled to go by train to the VPC (which is at the Performance Center in Greer, SC) by the 14th, according to my dealer . .so you are probably headed for the VPC as well.

Maybe I need to switch to Performance Center delivery on the 22nd!

That's great news! I feel better knowing the car is sitting at the VPC/Performance Center as opposed to sitting at the docks for the next few weeks!! It probably doesn't make a bit of difference, just perception but it still makes me happier.

Mine is there too, larryn. Anyone know a major BMW contact above the dealer level that we can question about just how soon cars will go to dealers?? I can stand waiting till 3/22 if I must, but would like to know that it will be shipped in time for setting up delivery on that Saturday. Mine is the first at that dealer.

Mine is on the Emden, too. That means over a month before I get my grubby hands on it on March 26th at the PCD. Having other great cars to drive until helps make the wait so amendable...07 X5, 05 MCSC and an 07 MCS! (sold the 335i Coupe)

The maersk Wind is not docking in Charleston. It is docking in Brunswick.

Some of you are confused.

Yeah, the route seems to have changed since we left Belgium last week.
Maybe they couldn't get a berth in Charleston for tomorrow or something. :iono:
I hope my car is still onboard!
