Camaro SuperSour puss

So, I'm on my way home on a 4 lane road.
There is a lane to my left and right, the right one is the turning lane for the business's on the road.
Speed limit is 30mph and I'm doing about 35.
A nice looking white Camaro SS is turning into my direction from a side street. I go by and he gets in behind me.
There is a slower car to my left.
The Camaro gets a bit antsy and gets really close to my rear bumper, basically tailgating.

Then, he decides that I'm not going fast enough to his liking and decides to jump into the right turning lane, no signal BTW.
Then, he gets on it. I knew he would.
I hear the V8 and he's now next to me. I shift down to 2nd and drop the loud pedal. He pulls a fender length in front of me as he got the jump on me. I stay in it. Then, of all the STOOOOOPID things to do, he starts drifting into MY lane. He doesn't even have a clear space cause he's only about a fender length in front!. I'm still on it and start to catch him.
As soon as I'm even with him he's drifting even closer to me.
He's literally about 5-6 inches from my 135i!.
I had to turn towards the left of my lane fearing he might side swipe me.

Then I start to go past him with a big grin on my face and he backs down.
In front of me is a slower car so I slow down and the Camaro stays back about a car length. We come to a red light and he's now going to make a right turn. As I stop he pulls next to me, and rolls his window down.
He's an older guy, somewhere in his 60's and next to him it looks like his older grandson or son. His passenger has a big smile on his face.
I roll my window down and the old dude has a scowl on his face and says,
"Is something funny to you?". Hmmm....? I respond, "Don't know. Is something funny to you?" He retorts, "You were coming into MY lane a$$hole." "Really?", I say. "Is that why I had to move to my left as you were coming left into MY lane, with no signal?"
Light turns green and I wave him off. He goes right.

Man, what a prick. I guess Camaro SS stands for 'Super Sour puss' with this guy.
If you're gonna play, play fair, and then don't bitch if/when you get shut down.
His 400+HP would have probably taken me as we got to higher speed, but he was just being a jerk trying to pass me on the right, in a turning lane, after sitting on my a$$ for a bit.

Some people just suck.

For some reason Camaro drivers always try to prove something... I just ignore..

On another note: our cars are fast and dont scream that with overly aggressive spoilers, etc.

Don't feel to bad.

You won the race. He's a sore loser who was trying to play chicken with you for the win.

That is dirty racing in my book.

End of story.

This post is so fail from the get-go.
points:
1. "Speed limit is 30mph." Are you asking for a ticket? Also if there are businesses on this road, someone could dart out in front of oncoming traffic without notice. It's called "Leap of Faith."

2) "he starts drifting into MY lane" When you see this happening, it's time to back off and get as far away from this joker as possible, because he may be high or drunk.

3)"Man, what a prick." He may be a "prick," but you're the one who accepted his irresponsible challenge on a public 30 MPH road.

Grow up, and let the guy who posted about his insurance going up read this.

Drive responsibly!

(sorry to be the resident boring old guy at 35.)

A few days ago some guy in a Sabb pulled next to me at the traffic light was revving his engine but would not look at me. I rolled down my passenger window but he still will not look at me. Light turns green and I take off. When I got up to the speed limit I let off and he come screaming by me flipping me off. What’s up with that!

Early 30's guy here, and I support your message. It sounds like there were other cars in close proximity, or at least a good opportunity for there to be. So what, he was an asshole riding your bumper. Just deal with it. No reason to drive like that in traffic and involve other people/families.

Definitely want to be safe on the roads. The story sounds like the guy is not a smart driver and pulled you into doing the same.

That said, I have definitely handed many a Camaro their ass as well as vettes etc and they always are sore losers. ALWAYS

I agree as well...it's just a Crap-aro, there's nothing to prove, and much less at the expense of putting yourself and others at risk!

Well said! If I see someone trying to prove something to me narrowly cutting into other people's lanes IN TRAFFIC, I back off...

We all have, BUT: 30MPH zone, commercial area, man drifting into adjacent traffic, this wasn't a deserted country road or Interstate with barely any traffic on it.

Geesh! These folks judging RPM90, why the hell did you buy a BMW in the first place.

You want a sedated driving experience, buy an Audi.

OK, I won't judge because, as BV pointed out, I'm sure a few of us have been unable to resist the temptation of putting down a dumb challenge to our 1's. But it really is better to turn the other cheek. It does make the other guy really look stupid in most cases.
