Jet Black on Black 135i - 'Pro' Pics

Conveniently, I'm a photographer...so who better to snap some pics of my new baby! Picked her up from VOB about two weeks ago, almost at the 800 mile mark, can't wait to finish break in.

Already had 35% tint put on by Driven Dynamics in Rockville, MD. Great place I definitely recommend them they have done three of my previous cars. Also installed 7500k GP Thunders yesterday, loving those they are not as dim as I was expecting them to be...I guess it's all down to how you install them. I also spent an hour today removing the lower middle grill to show off the intercooler. Looks soooo much better imo! On to the photos:

I wasnt much of a fan of black cars before I bought this one, but damn it looks so good when it's clean. Just a little more work but it definitely pays off.

For those of you who are photo nerds, I shoot with a Canon 5D. Used a 24-70L here, hand held at 1/2 second...skillz.

OP, nice looking car. BTW, Welcome to 1ADDICTS.

Have you considered swapping-out the chrome(ish) 135 grills for proper 128 items?

Zaino will keep it swirl free. Get the Show car kit at zainostore.com, everything you need is there.

Apply Z5 to eliminate swirls, then use Z2 and Z6 - it only takes an hour or so of work, with an hour drying time between coats.

Don't use any type of mechanical or touchless car wash. A regular washing with a microfiber wash mitt and a carnuba car wash gel works wonders.

Looks great! Are you going to leave the bottom of the bumper empty (no grille)? I'd imagine that you'd be more likely to damage your intercooler that way....

And if I may ask, about how much did you end up saving off that hefty total? I only ask because my MSRP was about the same when I picked up my loaded but deeply discounted black 08 last month.

Looks good.

Thanks! Yeah I drove it two weeks before bought it and was really considering it. I actually went back and told my SA Jim that I wasn't going to buy it, then a week later I ran in and picked it up haha.

I actually got .9% financing and had them drop the price to just over invoice. I'm very happy with what the did for me.

That's what I paid, that's $700 over cost....so more than fair.

I drove a 335i for a few months and did the same mod, trust me if anything is going to damage your intercooler it is most likely going to damage something else before it gets there. The grill isn't really going to stop anything. Rocks that you encounter on the highway are small enough to get through the holes there. Lots of people on e90post have done this mod and there have been many discussions about protection...there really isnt much protection from that grill.
