Turner performance package for the 128i
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-11...e-package.aspx
This looks interesting. I'm most curious about the ecu tune though. Because they say "We take the stock software and make adjustments for 91 octane (stock software is set around 87)" The claimed 19hp and 17tq is impressive, as I did not think that was possible for $600 with our engines (n51/52). Does anyone have this in their car? Thoughts? Thanks |

For the money you'd be better off going with an intake manifold and a tune from evolve or another euro company. This seems like the same exact thing that the AA tune is.

Intake is worthless, tune isn't one of the major ones unless they are using a canned AA tune.
Wouldn't spend money on it.

I understand that but I guess Im more concerned if 1) it could be flashed back to stock and 2) proof of this tune, for the price it does seem enticing however ill just stay optimistic in hopes its not another bms powerbox kind of deal

turner is very legit. you can flash it back, but you would have to send your DME back to turner to do so...call Marco at turner and ask him for all the details, hes a good dude, always helps me out.
not so familiar with the non-turbo 1ers, but I respect the hell outta turner for their work. I would consider them like the baby sister of Dinan for tunes (Dinan lovers feel free to rip me for this). Also, their customer service is legit. |

If the stock software on a n51/n52 is set for 87 octane, than why does it say on the car and even in the owners manual minimum 91 octane?

How is it "a fact" that evolve tune would be better? Still as yet to see a single dyno showing its superiority over other tunes?

For a start, AA and Evolve have devoted their time to this forum, building reputable relations. How many people can contest to AA or Evolve? A lot. Turner? I think the list is at like 3 now. |

The claims of some of the tools on this sub-forum are embarrassing. Nothing against the companies, just the fanboys. |

Can't fanboy over something I don't have. Just enjoy the car and pick a tune that suits you. There's plenty of information out there - if you don't trust it, pave your own way. Last edited by Dafttt; 07-02-2013 at 04:42 AM.. |

It is on my 113 page under my Fuel Specifications sub header Required fuel. Than it goes on stating to make sure to use high-quality brands for fuel blah blah blah. However, this brings in new light on the situation. Again not that I am doubting anyone or Turners description on the tune. I was just curious because I know one thing for sure, the type of fuel my car needs.

and FYI there aren't "many" dynos for 128i's in general across this forum. But this is close enough of a vendor claim for me let alone they have been tried and true over the years

The following is from the 2013 OM:
Recommended fuel grade BMW recommends AKI 91. Minimum fuel grade BMW recommends AKI 89. Maybe the OM requirement has changed over the years? |

My car is tuned for 93 I believe.

I will happily dyno my car against anyone who wants to buy the Turner tune and AFE airbox combo.
