GIAC over PROcede
Just a quick thought on my experience switching from the V5 PROcede to Stage 1 GIAC ...I'm much happier.
I had the PROcede for about a year. And, every time I took it out for service, etc. (about three times) I realized how much smoother the stock tune was. It was much more enjoyable/smooth to drive with the stock tune. So, I arrived at the decision to try something else. I went with GIAC. As I don't have DP's yet, I went with Stage 1 with all available maps and the handheld switcher. There is no question that the GIAC Stage 1 tune is considerably smoother in my car. It is down a small bit on power as compared to the PROcede V5, but worth it to me for sure. I really like the car much better now. This is simply my own seat-of-the pants assessment in my car. I'm not comparing them on a dyno, etc. And, don't care to. I just wanted to share my personal experience and preference for anyone that might be interested. Thanks. |

I did quite a bit of messing with the PROcede to get it to smooth out. Also, tried letting "AutoTune" just do it's thing. It was never comparable to the smoothness the stock tune has. And, isn't on par with the GIAC for me. Again, power is a bit better with the PROcede. But, then again, I'm only running Stage 1 on the GIAC.
I'm happy with my decision. (Knowing I'll never have to go back into the ECU box again is a real plus too. Man, I hated doing that.) |
