Y pipe question

I'm thinking of doing a custom y pipe on my 135i

But thinking of leaving everything else the same stock exhaust and stock DP

How would that sound ?

any body have this set up basically removing the resonator to a custom y pipe with stock exhaust that's not a bmw PE ?

I would like some feed back thanks

i would imagine it will sound great seeing as most of the sound comes from the modified y-pipe on the PE. maybe not most, but there are people that have put just the muffler on and its not the same

As long as you have a muffler on there it will not sound like a diesel truck.

I think it should sound good, as long as you stay catted.

I had PE Mod with Y pipe and car sounded great, as soon as I went with DP's and catless mids it sounded like absolute garbage. Something between a mid 90s Honda with a straight pipe and a VW diesel.

I added a Vibrant resonator and this was the result:

Just loud enough. Experiment with different setups and tweak it till you're happy.

I know an awesome exhaust shop in Fontana. Don't know if that's farther than you want to travel, but they're really good. PM me if you're interested.

So I did the resonator delete today in the morning it sounds ok

Not loud AT ALL so I'm hoping when I add my downpipe it will be louder

it just gave it a bit louder tone than stock so I'm ok for now intill I get my downpipe

if I add a down pipe I get a check engine light correct ??

Only if you don't have a tune that overrides the O2 check.
