Half Yellow Engine Light at WOT - Oil Splatter under hood

So I got a half yellow engine light during WOT in 4th gear today. Light stayed on all the way home. When I got home I looked under the hood and saw some light oil splatter on the underside of the hood near the oil filter housing and charge pipe. There was also a couple drops of oil on the charge pipe and some oil on the oil filter housing. Any ideas what could have happened? I didn't hear any loud noises just the light coming on. No piping looks disconnected.

You don't happen to have the "free BOV" mod where you disconnect your stock lines do you? That can and will cause oil to spray on the hood.

oil filter housing gasket is likely non existent as well as valve cover gasket. Check all oil lines for addition leaks. The limp mode is not likely related to the oil unless something is seriously wrong. Check the code it is likely related to the HPFP or Injectors

valve cover gasket was just changed, but oil filter housing gasket could be bad. I've noticed long cold start cranks and bouncing idle revs lately. Both mild though. Car is at dealer. Dealer said they are running performance diagnostic testing. A bunch of codes were thrown. Most of the names he rattled off I didn't know what they were but misfires were in the mix.

So in the end...

Oil filter housing gasket leaking. Replaced under CPO
BOV needed to be reseated on charge pipe.
Intercooler connection on input side blew off and o ring gone.

Dealer is turning to BMW to see if intercooler connection (o ring I guess) is covered under CPO since its a Dinan intercooler. This will be interesting to hear back because the whole reason I went with Dinan was to keep my CPO in tact. The way I understand it is they replaced the missing o ring and snapped the connection together again. The amount of work involved would be the same with either stock or Dinan intercooler. I might get bitten in the ass because I didn't have it installed at a Dinan authorized shop, but I will fight it if they throw that card.

Picked up the car today...

So everything was covered under the CPO. No questions asked. Which was really nice.

In the end the dealer:
replaced the oil filter housing gasket
replaced the one diverter valve that disconnected from the charge pipe
Installed the proper gaskets to connect the intercooler inlet piping.

I only paid the $50 deductible. The car pulls much harder now which is interesting. Makes me wonder two things:

1. Did I ever have the intercooler connected properly
2. Did I leak boost historically from the DV and Do I need to start considering aftermarket charge pipe and BOV/DV options at ~14 psi

thoughts?
