H7 High Beam Replacement - 100watt

I am looking at these lights:

http://www.amazon.com/Hella-H7107030...pr_product_top

I want to put them in my high beam spot on a 128i. I was wondering if the added watts (they are 100w bulbs) will throw a code on the computer?? or mess anything up?

I wouldn't suggest that with a higher watt light bulb. The extra heat might not be handled well by the light housing and it can cost you more trouble than you think.

I wouldn't recommend it. Besides the highbeams on these cars are great as is. Is having a little brighter highs worth it when your housing melts and BMW of Dallas, or Classic or wherever you take your car, informs you that they are no longer covered under warranty and it will cost over $2000 to fix?

Seems stupid to me.

+1 Cannot recommend going any higher than the factory rated wattage, you risk melting the housings and OE wiring.
