edge350, I highly doubt our cars will fit 285's in back. We hoping 265's at this point.

What are the implications of going wider than OEM? Wouldn't you ideally want a wider wheel for these tires? 10mm seems like a lot...

And on topic, JAMS 135. Are you in the US? Did you get the 261s thru your dealer?

261Ms look great, JAMS. :w00t: Did you order thru your own BMW Center or somewhere else? What was the damage, if I may ask?

Just remember when you go wider the weight of the tire usually goes up. Unsprung weight robs HP.

The 261M wheels retail for $1950 ($1755 after the 10% discount). Tire choice is very limited in the stock size. I went with Gill's recommendation of 225s front and 255s rear, (in the Bridgestone RE760). Good looking tire. I plan to get them mounted tomorrow, or Tuesday, and will post photos.

Hello all,
I am going to buy the 135i if it drives ok for my wife and I. We currently have a 2004 Z4 3.0i. I bought a set of wheels and tires for the Z4 that I think would look good on the 135i. I noticed the factory wheels and tires on the 135i were:
WHEELS TIRES
135i
18 x 7.5 215/44R-18 Front
18 x 8.5 245/35R-18 Rear
Z4
18 x 8 225/40R-18 Front
18 x 8.5 255/35R-18 Rear

Does anyone know if the wheels from my Z4 will fit the 135i. The bolt pattern looks the same but I am wondering is the 18 x 8s will fit on the front. I did read one review where they said larger front tires would fix the understear the car has.

By the way IMO the RE050A on the Z4 were terrible. I got the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 non runflats and the Z4 rode much smoother on rough roads and the cornering was improved. I bought a BMW air compressor off e-bay to keep in the trunk in case of a flat.

IDBMW,

You may or may not have issues, depending on the offset of your aftermarket wheels. The stock "style 264's" on the US 135i are:

Size: 7.5x18" (f), 8.5x18" (r)
Offset: et 49 (f), et 52 (r)

So, you should be able to figure out if your wheels will fit, based on their offset.

Nice looking Z4, btw!

If the stock 135i run-flats ride ok to me, I will stay with them. Remember if you get a taller tire your car will be slower to 60. And if you get lower/shorter tire, the wheelwell gap will look bigger. Both bad to me. The stock tire will probably be the best. IMO.

Stock tires: F 24.8 inches/ R 24.7

225/40/18 = 25.1 inches/ 255/35/18 = 25.0 (.3 of an inch difference, front and rear).

Where did you get the stock height? I tried with no answers.

Those should look very aggressive. What Tire brand and model are you considering for the size upgrade. Are they run-flats? If not, what will you do?

261M wheels with RE760 NRF (225s & 255s) installed. Weight difference: about one pound heavier, per wheel:

First scale photo is 261 front, second is 261 rear, third is stock front and fourth is stock rear.

What I don't understand about using RE760s is the fronts are XLs but the rears aren't. Personally I'd rather source tires with the proper load rating and have that be the same for both front and rear. Above RE760 fronts are very heavy for a non-RF in that size--26 pounds! Same as the rears, which are a lot bigger.

Bridgestone has a thirty-day money back guarantee so I thought I would give these a try. I am not tracking the car and couldn't wait to ditch the Run Flats!

What tire are you thinking of using?
