Ran my 135i DCT at Capitol Raceway tonight

This was my first ever drag strip, car # 4428. Car is stock with about 3,000 miles, hot night with 3/4 tank of 93. For all runs I had sport button on.

My first and best run was 2.1 60' 13.6 @ 100, left DCT in S mode.

Not very impressive but I thought it was ok for my first time. I was able to get the mph up to 102 by shifting around 6k rpm but i couldn't beat 13.6, car consistently ran 13.7-13.9.

The slip on the left was against a G37. The one on the far right was against a camaro SS, he was pretty surprised i was right next to him the whole way.

My best times (13.6 and 13.7) were with DSC on. I know that sounds wierd but when I ran with DTC my 60s were 2.2 and ET was 13.7-3.9. When I tried full off I nailed the gas way too heavy and got lots of spin with a 2.3 60 and 14 ET (didn't post that slip). Drove thorugh the water but didn't burn out at all, would that help?

Any advice?

jsublime,

Glad somebody posted some times for the 135 with the DCT!! Not bad for your first time. I am assuming you were on street tires. If so, what was hurting you was driving throught the water box before your runs. The water was what was causing the wheel spin. With street tires, always drive around the water box. I did this even with my old 335 xi with all wheel drive.

I honestly thought your trap speeds would be higher. I thought they would be around 105mph to 106 mph. Next time, try driving around the water box and use launch control and / or sport mode with both traction and stability control off. If the track is prepared right, you should have enough traction. My 335xi automatic stock wound run 13.4's at 104 mph all day long with 1.9 60 foot times. My best stock run was a 13.20 at 105 with a 1.8 60 foot time. With JB+ at 50 % it ran a 13.17 at 105.82 mph.

I can't wait to see what my 135 i with DCT will do.

Have fun,

Gumpy.
