DCT Software Update in SoCal?
Anyone know where I can get the transmission update in SoCal for a decent price? The new SIB to fix the hesitation/jerky gear changes

Is that not free at the dealer? I have my car there now and told them about sluggishness when the car is coming to a stop that I cannot accelerate out of it like when approaching a stop sign. They said they'd look into it.

Did you see that "other thread" where one member fixed his hesitation by coding his battery correctly. Apparently, IF the battery is coded improperly(to charge at the wrong Amp/hours) it can also cause the dct hesitation.
Any dealer can update your car's SW. Most charge one or two hours labor rate. An independent shop won't be able to update your SW.

I called a couple of dealerships but their prices are ludicrous. They INSIST on doing a $100-$150 diagnostic test first, and THEN charging $200-$300 to do the SW update if it's needed |

Called Eric, super cool guy. He's suggesting that all DCT cars usually have this sort of issue and in his honest opinion, isn't worth doing a software update so I don't risk damaging a module. He said if I want, he can do the software update for $261, but not I'm wary of doing it. What do you guys think? |

In all honesty, get the bootleg PPK1 software installed for ~$60 and be happy. From what I can tell, this solved most of my issues except for throttle response right after deceleration at slow speeds. I still cant quite get the throttle to modulate well and sometimes I end up speeding up and braking hard rapidly especially in traffic.

Yeah so the dealer apparently updated me to whatever the latest software is and though it feels improved the unresponsiveness when decelerating still remains. Kind of sucks haha.

I'm having the same SIB update to my car, I am picking it up this afternoon. If the problem isn't solved, I'm certainly going for the PPK update.

I am going to be getting the Cobb AP soon should I get the PPK too or will the AP fix it? Or would it have to get pro tuned to have that fix it? |
