E85 information!

Hey guys, at the moment I have jb4, intakes, catless mid pipes, and I want to try out some e85..I know that the car has to be on map 5, but I just don't know exactly how many gallons to put into the car to mix with 91..I was wondering if anyone can help me out? Thanks alot in advance!

I found through experimentation/datalogging that I need to run 50/50 E85 and 93 to maintain ignition advance with my race file on GIAC Stage 2. From my reading on N54Tech, I think you'll have to do the same with the JB.

Are you on ISO w/ flex fuel wires?

if no, put no more than 2-3 gallons MAX and run map 5.

if yes, then you can put in up to 6 gallons and still run map 5

On the JB4, you can get away with going up to a 50/50 mix before needed to get the backend flash. BMS recommends 30-40% E85, so 4.2-5.6 gallons of E85.

I found the car would run with E40% without changing the injector constant, but with my tune and the injector constant changed, the car just starts and idles so much smoother ! You can really fell the difference !

I offer much cheaper tuning option for E85 tuning ! I have gotten better results than Jb4 too. Here is comparison with JB4 on the limit and starting to knock a little.

My true ecu flash is Run 1, check the power line from 5k out...

I just downloaded the cobb e85 mix ots map and I was wondering what people were using for their fuel mix. I did 4 gallons of E85 and 8 gallons of 91. I hardly felt a difference over the stage 2+. Any mixes work better for the cobb map?

I usually put about 3.5 gallons in and it runs beautifully. I tried 4.5 once and it had a hiccup when going wot.

I have jb4 btw, just the g4 board not g5

I put 4 gallons if e85 in with a full tank of 93. My mods are dci, berk mids, berk race and jb4 map 5. I did a couple pulls and have not noticed any difference with the butt dyno. I think it needs more time/pulls to adjust??

Grab some datalogs and see if there is an issue. The OTS e30 map is a pretty big bump in power over stage 2+

I got a 35whp difference with my true ecu tune, made a huge difference in the feel for me. My car is 420whp with E30 and its a rocket ship ! Makes 471wtrq or 550 ft-lbs and that is what you really feel with a good E30 tune !

I love ethanol tuning ! I have been doing it for years. I will soon set up a tune to run full E85 with a higher flowing pump. That should allow for some really good power !

^ I don't think OP cares...? He didn't respond the first time you plugged your tune. Nor are you answering his question.

I pulled some logs and really have no idea how to read them. Anybody mind helping me out? This is first and second gears traction control off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You sure your car is running right? E30 map is at least 40hp over the 2+ map.

Note for manual guys - It will make your clutch slip and kill it, which is why I don't run it.

LOL yes its running right. Its probably closer to 20hp based from my experience, but in my opinion, its not a huge difference. A big difference for me is probably closer to like 50hp.
