Meth line connetor won't stop leaking!

Hi guys, I'm just looking for a bit of insight on this. I have the coolingmist/BMS meth system with a meth tank in my trunk, and the line runs through my back seats and up through the engine firewall in the driver footwell area. The tubing that came with the kit wasn't quite long enough to make everything nice and hidden, so I bought some extra tubing and wanted to connect two of the plastic lines in my trunk so I can have ample room to keep everything looking neat.

I bought this months ago:

http://www.coolingmist.com/pagedispl...er_tanks,parts

It seems to be the right part and was actually recommended to me by either Terry or someone at coolingmist (forget which). Unfortunately I just CAN'T get it to stop leaking. I'm actually on my THIRD unit like this because I just can't figure it out. No number of tries with threading tape seems to fix the problem, and I even completely encased one of the units I bought in loctite putty (after using the thread tape) and it still seems to creep out somehow!

This is absolutely driving me nuts. I even spoke with coolingmist and sent one of the employees there the connector unit so that HE could do it for me.. and he did and sent it back and it seemed to work leak free for about a month.. and now it's spewing meth into my trunk just as much as before. I didn't even touch the damn thing! The second I got it I installed it without playing around with it at all because I really didn't want it to leak, and I was assured it would be fine... and lo and behold it still doesn't work right!

My last resort is just buying a really long meth line and just redoing the tube installation through the firewall, but I'm hesitant to do that as it was the biggest pain in the ass ever to do and I don't really want to go through that again, but it seems to be my last resort.

Unless anyone here has any other suggestions... Do any of you guys know of any other pieces I can use to connect two standard coolingmist meth lines? This is absolutely driving me crazy!

Do a swagelok compression union and be done with it. No tape needed, no stupid seals....just quality stuff!

Funny, I had this discussion with them just yesterday on another board. This is exactly why I don't have meth yet....too much crap out there and hard to get quality stuff.

Edit, if it's 1/4" OD you're using, here is one on ebay for $8 shipped. If you want to get really fancy...do a bulkhead fitting at the firewall or where ever you transition.

Garage List
Why would you not get a longer line & keep the meth out of the passenger compartment?

Running it through there is honestly the easiest way. I could run it through the outside of the car or something, but there are too many variables going on that could cause it to leak due external factors. As it is, it sneaks under the rear seats, and is nestled under the floor mats. The only section that's visible is way at the end of my footwell where I have to bring it up under the steering wheel through the firewall.

I think that's the best way, because there's too much going on outside the car and I don't want a meth line nicked. I would get a single long tube, but as I said, getting the line through the firewall was the most annoying part of the procedure, so I'd like to keep the existing 2 lines and just find a better way of connecting them so it doesn't leak in my trunk, since it seems this brass connector piece is what's causing the leak.

I skipped the filter and went with your first link. OMG IT FINALLY DOESN'T LEAK! I don't know why I never even thought of compression fittings before but thank you SO MUCH! If you are ever in the NYC area I will buy you a beer. Scratch that, a keg.
