Well thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts on this.
For the ones who asked, I will be moving to The Woodlands. It really surprised me that most of you guys would take the Cayman GTS, I don't know why but right now I am not in love with porsche (except for the 991 GT3). Maybe it is because as I mentioned before, I had a 996 C2 and my father used to have a Cayman S, so I feel I want something completely different than what I have had before. There is something I have been thinking lately, and it is that as I will be working from home, most of the time that I am out I will be with my wife and my 2 year old daughter, so I am thinking that if I don't have back seats, I will not be able to use my car as much as I would like to and it will become a weekend car, and my wife's F15 X5 will be our car to go pick up our girl from kindergarden, taking her to the movies, etc. Spending time with my daughter is far more important to me right now, and if I want to spend time with her AND get to drive and enjoy a car everyday, I might have to get something with back seats. So right now i am thinking of either: - GT-R - M4 - Macan Turbo If everything goes well the next few months, I might be able to add a 3rd car to the household, and then I will have the same "problem" all over again. Thank you all again for your input. |

Look at austin yellow. A beautiful golden color. You've gotta see this color in person. Pictures just don't do it justice, imho.

BTW, Porsche once wanted to drop the 911 and replace it with the 928. The 928 was a beautiful car with a V8 and rear wheel drive. They made it for a few years, and it was mildly successful. Unfortunately, the so-called Porsche Purists bitched to the company about dropping their dearly beloved over-priced VW and won. Also Porsche may have been in a precarious financial position.
You should examine the history of the 911, and its early days as an air-cooled engine finally moving to H2O. Also the handling problems took years to address, about 50. I believe part of the solution might have been slowly moving the engine forward? I had many friends that owned the 911. I still remember some of them kept the car covered in the back of their garages due to mechanical incapacitations - yuk yuk! Anyway, I believe owning a 911 would be like owning a boat, you do know about the two best days in a boat owner's life? I now want to add a car to the OP's list. In many ways, it is a real knuckle dragger's ride, a MB C63 AMG. It has one of the best NA big V8s ever made, and it is an entertaining car to drive. You all want to have fun don't you? A used one with low mileage can easily be had with all the options in the high forties. But wait is gets better. MB is replacing the engine with a new AMG V8 engine with twin turbos for about 450+ HP. An S version is 500+. The car will probably sell for around $70K new, and it will be quite a bargain. |

I say 997 TT. I am in same situation but will be keeping the car. I am leaning towards 09 997.1 tt and suspension mod vs 997.2 tt or tt-s. Agree, many of others lack soul. |

Move to the U.S. And bring the Swedish Bikini Team with you too. M3 in anything other than Austin Yellow. White with Silverstone interior looks especially good except not sure how a 3 year old with their assorted spills and messes it will look after a year or two. Lucky kid who will grow up with a cool dad who loves cars. The next generation needs to get passionate about cars as we all have.

I think austin yellow is beautiful on the M4. It needs to be seen in real life to be appreciated imho. I can understand that it may be too much for some people, though.

- 997.1TT around 70k (stock) - 997.1 GT2 around 110k, before discussion ! - C6 Z06 '08>10 around 65k then around 75/80k - GTR around 60, around 80 for '13 and prepared. About the soul, is goes that way, from more to less soul: - C6 Z06 - 997 GT3 & RS - 997 GT2 (take a clubsport anyway !) - 997TT - GTR and so... The GTR, even prepared, doesn't mean a lot of soul. The 997TT needs at least turbo changing to kick hard in the neck and mean soul, the one I prefered driving was a Sportec Stage 3 (ex-Loeb) The GT2 gives a lot, cause the chassis is great and the power comes naturally nice ! GT3 and RS mean track, power is a bit less, but chassis and brakes are a must, once alignement has been done ! Any how, all these must keep yourself in mind that the most important is how YOU feel in it, preferably like this:
