I originally gave dates of the first weeks in June (assuming a may production from an April allocation) but now I'm begging my dealer to try to get me in June 23rd so I can do the M experience during the 24 hours of nurburgring race!

Sorry but I need to point this out, you need a Allocation slot and Production date before you can request a ED date.

So everyone here has these dates already? I think not since Allocations are month by month. March and April dates are out but that's it.

Yes I plan on doing an ED but only IF I CAN even get a Car!! Who knows if or when that will be.

Actually that is not true because even for June pick up, production numbers have been given and ED dates have been confirmed by the Welt.

Any Confirmed ED dates for June would be for cars built in April. As I mentioned above US Allocations have only been given out for March and April so far. May Allocations are due out this week or first of next week.

The rest of these dates are just wishes at this point.

I wouldn't call it 'wishes' necessarily. Some dealers simply have more pull than others, by the virtue of having a direct contact/source at BMW NA. I have seen certain dealers being sent formal assurances of allocations for specific months way into the year, so that is why some can say things more definitively on a longer horizon past the 1-2 month 'normal' allocation window. I know, the entire process is very messy, all I am saying is that not all dealers are necessarily equal, for better or for worse, seen it firsthand.

However, until you have a production date you can't have an ED date. Period.

You also must pay for the car Totally in advance and have these docs Fedexed over night to BMW Germany prior to confirming your ED. I have done an ED on my 07 335i and know this process quite well.

I also have looked up the Allocated 1M's in the US using my dealer's computers. It is quite easy to see where these cars have been Allocated. What you can't do is see into the future at the dealers and see where cars may be going.

Each dealer can add place holders, basic order requests, into the Computer system for however many cars they want, yet this does not guarantee what's so ever how many cars will be allocated to these dealers. I do agree some of the large volume dealers will get more cars overall. Something like 4 to 5 cars vs 1 to 2 cars but nothing like 50 cars vs 1 or 2.

What # are you on your dealer's deposit list? According to Matt Russell, who is with the M division of BMWNA, all dealers will receive at least one car. So, if you are first on your dealer's list then I wouldn't worry too much. You might have to wait a while, but you should get your car in due time.

You are correct 100% but a dealer can always reserve a slot with another model as long as he is anticipating production in a certain date range.

Well I didn't get the 23rd of June like I wanted so that I could attend the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. But I did finally get my allocation and confirmed ED date and considering how complicated this whole process has been I'll take what I can get!

Just put a deposit down today, European Delivery in October, no actual dates yet of course, but I've got my name on their September Allocation.

I hope the weather is good that late! My lease on my 335xi is up in November, so that's why I'm pushing for such a late date.
