135i Berk Race axleback on 128i (Vid)
Don't know if this has been posted before or if this car belongs to a forum member, but this is the route I'm going as far as an exhaust. Check it out:

Don't think any 135i exhaust parts would fit without cutting and welding. If I don't find anyone selling the berk race axle back used, i'll be buying a new one as this is a really nice sounding option. Better than the BMW performance or magnaflow.

I think down the line i'm just gonna have an entire custom exhaust made, straight pipe all the way through no cats or anything except maybe a high flow muffler or my PE muffler at the end.
which begs the question, does removing the cats cause any codes? |

that sounds really good, and its a really good price as well.
I notice it has no rear resonator, I wonder what my magnaflow would sound like without the resonator. Probably not as good anyways LOL. Great job

Most 135i exhausts will fit after being cut to fit after our resonator.
Resonator delete is desired since 135i has it done in BMW PE

Wouldn't it be way too loud? I think it sounds awesome as is.

Yes, taking out the cats would throw codes without proper ecu coding/ tuning. Gains would be pretty great though

It could be a bit more loud, keeping it doesn't hurt performance. After all you live with to every day.
i don't have a resonator on the system I got, maybe it is the 135i muffler that is keeping it tame

Not on a 128i that I know of, but I'm sure it has been done on the 328i. Maybe the guys at AA can give some insight on being able to code the o2 sensors to not throw codes with their tune.

Actually, thanks to a member posting up a great deal on an AA exhaust for a 135i, and closely looking at underside pictures of the mounting points and the bends, i bought it. I'm thinking its a direct fit with no issues, and if it isn't it will require very minor bends or cuts to get it to fit perfectly. I'll post up pictures/video's once i have it done.

Awesome. From what I heard mentioned, the 128i will sound a bit louder than on a 135i with the same exhaust. Something about turbos muffling the sound.

Yeah turbo's are technically mufflers since they take some of the exhaust flow to spool themselves, But i still have my two cats on so i think it shouldn't be too loud compared to a 135i. Im supposed to get it monday, hopefully i have time to work on it before the weekend to get it mounted up. praying its a direct bolt on

Just got my AA 135i axle back put on. They had to cut behind the resonator, make a 2-1 pipe and put a custom flange on it in order to install, but it only cost about $200 which is well worth it since i got mine for 320 and can sell my PE exhaust for that amount to cover the costs. the sound is AMAZING. it is VERY loud and the drone is absolutely horrible at 2k rpm, but as long as you are cruising at about 2.5k rpm, it's not even an issue. When you really get on it, it almost sounds like an exotic car. I'll have pictures and video up for all you guys tomorrow. WELL WORTH IT if you want a louder exhaust that still sounds great.

Can't get any pictures of the custom work underneath because i have no way to get under the car.. But if you look at your exhaust, just look right behind the resonator, thats where it was cut and then those 2 pipes were mated to 1 using a Y pipe which had a custom flange put on it to mate to the AA axleback, heres a short WOT run to get an idea of how it sounds... aka awesome.
