I have a hard time understanding why people care so much about 0-60 times. It's really not a good indication of how a car is going to perform in the real world.

Its just fun Jer! Plug 0 to 60mph into Wiki. Its an entertainging read.

On another note, stock Vettes are ridiculously fast.

I find it easy to use 0-60s and 1/4 miles because the average person to semi-car person can at least kind of get those, but more an more I think they don't matter so much. I'd say about 70% of the time in real world conditions what matters are what you can get out of the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls, ie the 50-70 and the 70-90+. But anyway, 4.1 sounds right, may be able to get a 1er to 4 flat or 3.9 with PS2s or similar instead of the RFTs

My favourite stat to look at is the 60-130mph. It really tells the kind of power you're dealing with.

I understand, but it's just so useless, and we're down to talking about a few tenths of a second over a ver short distance, which can be altered by conditions. 1/4 mile times are much better IMO especially if they include a trap speed.

The Vettes are damn fast all around as well.

The thing about comparing to cars like the Z06 is that a lot of them can hit 60MPH in first gear, which improves the times. They look like they would destroy you in a race, but the reality is at 65MPH we've already made a gear change, and they still have to make one, which closes the gap until it happens again. You need more distance to really be able to judge how fast a car is using the numbers sometimes.

Note: Let me just say that I'm not suggesting a stock 135i will keep up with a stock Vette, I'm just throwing that out there as an example.
