18" x 7.5" square wheels enough for Track setup
My stock staggered run-flats are wearing too fast for regular track days. I have a set of 18x7.5" 264 wheels that have my winter tires on, could I use these for the track?
I really can't afford another set of wheels, but my concern is that 225/40-18 does not seem like enough tire for the rear. I am not a hardcore racer, just a novice/intermediate driver looking to have fun. I am sticking with stock suspension, but with square wheels, any thoughts? Brent |

Ideally i'd say you'd want a an 8.5 inch wheel and you could run a square 235 setup. I know the 235 ad08's are just as wide as the pss 255's...but I don't think you should run those on a 7.5 wide rim.
Could you do what you're looking to do, sure. You'll have a better balanced car and arguably have more fun, but you're going to have less over all grip and not be as fast as others.
