I played junior hocky and I went to Bobby Hulls camps once a year. Played until I was 14 or 15 years old. We diddn't have a high school hocky team so I kind of lost intrest (football was more important) I am a tried and true Blackhawks fan( yea, go ahead and drill me, I know they suck) even had season tix for 5 years...well... they suck and I was tired of dumping 3500 bucks to go watch them win maybie 15 home games. Damn, they were one of the original 6. Now here are some great memories...Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita...Damn, I'm old enough to remember going to see these two greats play at the old Chicago Stadium...When they were good

Imagine that, I venture over to the Off Topic & find a thread on hockey.

Anyway, it's good that I found this thread, because I've become increasingly annoyed at the officiating (and the NHL) of late. For one, the game is ever so slowly reverting back to where it was pre-lockout. A lot more of the clutching and grabbing is coming back, and my guess is that come playoff time it will be back in full force.

But my main gripe is at the officials. Sometimes I wonder if they understand what the rules are, and how/when to enforce them. My biggest pet peeve...

Diving Just tell me this - how can a player be called for hooking, tripping, obstruction, or whatever, when the player he "fouled" is called for diving? This has bothered me since the NHL introduced the rule, and EVERY time I see a tripping call on one player coupled with a diving call on the other, I shake my head in astonishment. It's either a trip, or a dive - make up your mind. I guarantee if the refs started calling JUST the dive, players would quickly stop doing it.

I've seen some pretty bad calls this season ruin the Habs' chances in overtime.....lucky it wasn't them last Saturday, but it could have been....the refs were AWFUL.
