Year One Commemorative Book?

Has anyone heard anything from a CA about the commemorative book for 2008 1ers that BMW USA has mentioned?

I pre-ordered a first-year 350Z back in 2002, and a beautiful coffee table book detailing the history of the Z line and the R&D of the 350Z arrived in the mail a few months before the car. It was an awesome, unexpected touch, and made the wait easier & harder.

I'm curious what BMW's plans are, but at this point it seems that it'll be delivered with the car itself.

BMW had a top quality commemorative book with the Z8.
I suspect that if they do have one with the 1er, it'll be commensurate with the MSRP.
So if there is one, it'll probably be a small paperback..

BMW announced as much early during the 1-Series build-up of hyperbole. Whether it's actually published remains unknown - http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/09/24...-the-1-series/

I remember reading this as well. This would be a really nice touch if they did something like this. Would definitely reiterate the uniqueness and heritage of the 1er.

Has anyone gotten the coffee table book yet?

I've had my car for a little under a month now. Just curious to see if the mythical "Year One" book has been delivered to anyone yet. I actually have received zero correspondence from BMW NA at this point.

Again... just curious.

Maybe the Book is a 3-4 month wait like the car.

What about the certificate? Does that come with the car at delivery?

Book and Certificate

Were we suppose to get some kind of commemorative book and certificate for our 1's? If so, did the dealer give it to you or did it arrive later from BMW?

Thanks,
Ken

OK - I've combined all the Commerative Book threads I could find.

And a word of note to those outside the US. This book/certificate nonsense is a part of BMW's US marketing arm's giveaways to buyers and, like the 'Year 1 of the 1' bezel, not available in other markets. (Check eBay in a couple of months though if you really want one. ; -)

Actually, quite a few of the early 1ers in Canada (mine included) had the "Year one of the 1" on the starter button bezel.. Those built from March '08 onward do not...
