Don't forget the chapstick .. don't want your lips cracking up from the large smile that will be on your face!

I've been debating that....you really think it's necessary since it's got that synthetic stuff in there now?

oil change!!!
I was talking to a car mechanic the other day, and he was telling me about when they used to build race engines for nascar, they'd break them in and then do the oil change, and he said (of course, different engines, but still) that it's almost pure metal that comes out when you drain it... slight exaggeration, but do you really want that pumping through your car's heart for 15,000kms or whatever the crazy recommended oil change interval is with synthetic?
I don't... but just my 2 cents

where is it $50? I though an oil change at BMW would be over $100?

at a dealer they are... find a private BMW mechanic (even sears or jiffy lube could do it if you trust them) in your area and they it should be around $50

I'll be doing oil and diff in mine as soon as it gets back. She got a GOOOD shakedown run over in Europe, I'm sure the engine is quite well broken in at this point! I think I spent a good 30-50 miles between 120 and 150 after hitting 1200 miles.
