We had a few blasts of snow here in the last week. I planned on Nov.26 to have my new K11's and Blizzaks mounted. Looks like I cut it a little close, but this snow is very early for Philly.

I was caught in March 2007 with summer rubber on when we got hit with a late Winter storm. I gave it a try and was too dangerous. My coworker lives near me and gave me a ride home. Lesson learned. Never run Summer rubber during Winter months.

I think I'm going to sell my hooptie, and replace the OEMs.

I ran my '98 GTi with Yokohama Paradas in the winter, and it was miserable. When I got my '02 GTi, I was caught with early snow and my Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, and that is an experience I would never want to repeat. I would get stuck at red lights for like 20-30 minutes; I'd drive 5 mph on the shoulder of the highway getting honked at. I ended up with some Michelin X-ICE snow/ice tires and life was joyful again.

For the 128, I just had some Continental TS810s mounted to the stock wheels. It turns out it was just in time, as the snow has already started to fall in light flurry form here in Columbus. I'll be able to report more when we get a little harder.

I had fun trying my oem summer runflats in the snow this week. I actually was glad I could not put the winter tires on till this weekend.

I would absolutely never ever use those summer tires for winter! It was fun but not safe for regular driving. If anyone does decide to use them without getting winter tires is insane!

Now with the winter tires I am looking forward to buying some skiis and enjoying this winter! I have the skibag too. It will be nice to try it out.

I run the Goodyear OEM Winter RFTs, so far a fun ride. Not as dangerous as driving my E30 without any security measures but ABS. But still fun, one thing though, do not step on it in 1,2,3 gear on low rpms. Wheels spin instantly as soon as there is water/rain/snow/ice on the road.
