New Bridgestone RE71R going on today! - PICS ADDED

Pretty stoked. 225/255 Bridgestone RE71R getting mount and balanced now. I'm on my way to dealership to get an alignment after.

Which dealer do you go to for alignment? Good price?

Will you let us know if they do a good job and if they're using equipment that clamps onto the outer lip of the wheel? I may get an alignment at a local dealer, though prices are all over the board (best I found nearby was a $179 coupon I think at Center BMW a few months back), but I'm terrified and perhaps overly paranoid about someone marring/scratching my beloved wheels.

Do you have any TRW/M3 suspension bits? I have the PS Suspension and the TRW front control arms. You think they would mind?

I actually got an alignment on Sunset at the Discount Tire next to the free AIDS testing lol. I was desperate and they were the only ones open on a Sunday. $98 and it was good enough at the time but at some point I'll want to bring it to West End but I was just seeing what else was out there. Yeah let us know your satisfaction afterwards.

Car is getting aligned now. I have only good things to say about this dealership. I'll try to find out the method used for alignment. Rusnak seems mod friendly. I've never had anyone question the car or blame any malfunction on something I added. Hell they did the Dinan stage 2 install and fixed my Dinan intercooler piping when it blew apart under CPO warranty.

In the first 50 miles driving to the dealership I noticed the tires have MUCH more grip compared to the Hankooks. Second gear completely hooks up now. The tires let you feel the road more and feel more compliant compared to the Hankooks. I haven't done any spirited driving yet but I'll let you know. So far I'm very happy!

Greg the dealership did a nice job. No marks on the wheels from alignment. Unfortunately there is a mark on one wheel from mounting. Its not bad, but i notice it. The shop had a hard time mounting the re71 due to how stiff the sidewalls were.

After about 200 miles i love these tires! The level of grip is seriously impressive. I have no problem hooking up in first or second now. WOT and the car just moves! I can even leave DSC on and there is never a sign of fuel cut off and no DSC light flashing. High speed sweeper turns show the limit is no longer my hankooks but rather the suspension compliance now. The car feels planted to the road but you can feel some compliance in the rear suspension that requires micro corrections in the turn. Thats with RSFB inserts. Car was aligned to be within BMW spec at the dealership. Is this due to short wheel base? Any advice on mods to improve this?

I still dont know how the treadlife is going to pan out, but i didnt care about that going into these tires. If you're looking to correct some traction issues and don't want to mess with LSD and treadlife is lower priority (until someone can confirm) then i highly recommend these. Ive never used PSS but id like to see how much traction you gain between the RE71 and PSS.

I havent washed my car yet, but I'll try to grab some pics once clean.

Nice review thanks. I have the Bridgestone Pole Postion S04's on my car in 225/255 set-up. Like to know the difference between the two Bridgestones.
PS- update your sig to delete those Hankooks.

How do you like the Pole Positions? I'm in between them and the PSS (like a $200 difference)

I like the S-04's a lot. They grip very well. Are quiet and seem to last longer then others I have had. Get them and save a few bucks. You won't be sorry.
Tire rack rates them as a close second to the PSS's, so that tells you a lot.

I have also had The Continental DW's which are very good and are priced lower than the PSS.

Added pics to show fitment. These tires run wide. I like the look, but I don't think I have anymore room with stock offset.

Thanks for posting and review.

I was planning on doing PSS with my new APEX Arc8 Wheels, but since PSS are back ordered for the 265/40/18 I have been searching for a different option and think I found it.

Heads up as Rusnak is not real mod friendly, I know a service tech there and he looks the other way for me but he says in general not to keen on mods.
Your Dinan stuff is no problem as they sell and install Dinan goodies.

Ask for SA Robert, cool guy and has a 4 series with JB4 so he gets it.

Any other pics would be great to see as well.

Thats interesting as I've never had an issue with Rusnak but my mods are conservative. I can only say good things about that dealer. They've always taken care of me.

From the people I've spoken to about PSS vs RE71, the nod always goes to RE71. But treadlife is not as good as PSS for sure.
