The Shakedown Test

With the car somewhat complete we headed 3 hours West to Morgan Park, Warwick for the first drive.
Fitted:
PWR Radiators and intercooler
Akrapovic Exhaust with Downpipes
KW suspension
Evolve Automotive Stage 1 tune

The car ran well, some fine tuning to be done. PWR making another oil cooler to add into the system. Overall we were all very happy with its performance in all aspects.

Next Test - Race meeting Practice Friday 10th August before 2 x 200km Races on 11th and 12th August at Queensland Raceway.

Gazz is right. Car has to be 1462kg without driver. Car can only run boost of manufacturers maximum boost. Due to 1M over boost function this will be around 14psi.
Boost is monitored by category. Rules cover brakes, fuel capacity etc.

Would be very interested to know what engine oil temps you run on track, before & after fitting the extra oil cooler, particularly at a full throttle track like QR.

Nice ! I did not like the sound of the Akrapovic on a 6 cylinder the first time i heard one, love the sound on a V8 (M3). That said, it sounds pretty darn good at the track

At Warwick car got to 150 degrees before retarding power, approx 7 laps in. Outside temp around 18 degrees C. We've now added the extra oil cooler and I'll let you know how we go ar QR. First run on Friday morning.

I'm surprised it got so high with the limited boost you're allowed to run. I'm not getting over 140 on a warm summers day at QR - which is more of a full throttle track, running 16psi. Mind you I suspect you hold it at full throttle a little longer than I before hitting the brakes... Even at just 140 I've upgraded my my cooler to a much bigger one. Ran 130 deg at QR a few months ago with similar ambient to you. Interested to know what temps you run at QR this weekend. Good luck!
