Lowering Springs with m-sport shocks

Those of you running lowering springs with m-sport shocks, how is the ride quality? Did you notice any improved handling with just the springs? Normally i know its recommended to do springs and shocks (or coilovers), but where the m-sport is already much lower than most cars mild lowering springs should work fine. Just curious if handling and ride suffers or improves? I plan to run just the H&R sport springs.

I have the Eibach Prokit springs and the handling has improved a lot Not too much in term of lowering and the ride is more compfortable !

perfect! im hoping the H&R's will lower it a bit more than the eibach's do, but glad to hear handling has improved!

Dampers are optimized to the spring that is matched with it.

With that being said, don't be surprised if you see a decrease in damping, and overall handling with lower springs if the rates are drastically different

Your ride will be bouncy and increase in stiffness, you should definitely upgrade your dampers with the springs.

Yep, I know ride quality is better with dampers which match. For me it's just a temporary solution during the M3 chassis conversion (coils this year or in 2015) !

Honestly, there is less role, more direct turn in and less floating about/greater stability BUT, it is stiffer. The springs work well with the M-Sport dampers but the M-Sport dampers are still mushy with way too much bounce.

I can't really say anything bad about the springs other than they highlight that the rest of the suspension is WEAK!

I know a guy who runs the above but with M3 rear subframe bushes and ARB's who absolutely loves it. I can't say he's wrong, it feels good but the M-Sport shocks needs some stiffer damping.

I'd say for the first 6mths you'll love them but after a while in the car you'll notice what needs changing and opt for coils .

well, i dont plan on ever doing coils on this car unless i somehow get lucky and my car is a test car for a company developing a set. I am slowly retracting from modding cars. my first audi i went big turbo, full exhaust, suspension, engine build, wheels, etc and spent every bit of my paycheck on it, next car i did every bolt on possible from exhaust to engine mounts to suspension setup along with a tune without spending the big bucks on a turbo kit and build. This one....just a tune, slight drop, intake, and MAYBE wheels in a year or two unless i can find a nice set cheap on CL or something. Im just not into it as i used to be, just want to make the car "mine" and a little more fun to drive since i drive a LOT.

This car already handles sooo much better than any of my 3 audis did so im sure if the springs alone are an upgrade in handling i will like them! Worst thing that can happen is i call up tire rack and order a cup kit or just shocks.

The shocks on this car aren't great and like I say, upset the surrounding bits when you shorten their rebound. Do it right first time and upgrade your shocks too as you'll probably love it forever that way.
