Rant

So i have had my brand new 116 for 5 weeks. After 3 weeks some dick opened their door and left a nice dent on it. No way they didnt know they didnt and as always they hit and run.
Lat week I got the dent fixed so I was happy again
Today I see a new dent. FUCKERS!!!!
I have been so careful where I park and some lazy prick still hit it.
So frustrating.

Although I did get a nasty one at BMW parra. Luckily for me I had the SA do a walk around when I dropped it off. Ironically, they had a paint less dent dude there at the time who fixed it.

Leased 8 different cars over the last 14 years and almost all this type of damage done at the dealership.

Now I always insist on a walk around when dropping off and do a thorough inspection before I leave the dealer

Should invest in some paintless dent repair tools and a course!

Hmm that's an idea... Sell said kits and run courses! Profit!?!

I don't really care about little dings and scratches any more. They are simply superficial damage.

Yep, I hear you. I had parked on the street with very reasonable gaps for others, yet some idiot in a modded, piece of shit Celica tried and failed to squeeze himself into a spot in front of me and bumped into my 135, and bent my 1-week-old number plates. Thankfully that's all they did, but it was enough to really go out of my way to avoid street parking wherever possible. "Parking by touch" seems all too common.

I feel your pain.... Absolute assholes those that don't respect other people's property. We work hard to enjoy our little pleasures and a good number of us know what sacrifices we've made to own what we own.

SBCE90 - I can't believe you wouldnt get upset if someone damaged your car whether intentional or not. As a self confessed car enthusiast, aesthetics is just as important to me as performance.

When I bought my car there was a small dent in the right rear door. I left it there to scare off all the other dents. This has worked so far.

Well yes, there is a certain level of care. But I've already had a window smashed, side keyed, dents in the hood, a few scrapes on the rear bar (one from a drill and two from a mate who reversed into his own car), cracked diffuser (from trying to install it) and a tiny ding on the door from a shopping trolley most likely. All the wheels are curbed as well from when others have taken the car out and been a bit careless with parking. I dont get how you can curb wheels/reverse into another car when it has a camera, auto-dip mirrors and sensors too... some people

They are just cars. Cars get used a lot and people bump them.

Fix the bad stuff and don't sweat the little bumps; that way lies madness.

cars and kids are the same, you want to polish/wash then and look after them but after a while you realise the bumps/scratches are the character that makes you love them more. As Kenny said fix the if it bothers you get it fixed and remember drive it like ya stole it before some prick bangs into it with a trolly full of kid shit, sorry bout that Suj

exactly how I feel about it. There are better things to worry about than a door.ding which will probably happen again anyway.

I went off at a person in a car park once... Completely useless old Honda driving piece of s-it....

It's was raining, I got out of my car, grab my umbrella and as I got out I accidentally tapped the tip of the umbrella against the underside of her cars skirting... I reached down, felt the car... Luckily no damage... Then Noticed she was in the car... I gave her the thumbs up and said sorry, no damage... She opened the door and started to go physco... "You have no respect for other peoples cars... Etc... I advised i checked and there was no damage and apologised... I walked to get a parking ticket...

I had my back to the car as I walked away then I heard a thud... Turned around to see that she had got back in the car, reached across to the passenger door in her car opened it and slammed it into my car...

At that point I did let a little loose on the verbals... She got back in the car and drove off...

I settled, checked my car, nothing a good buff couldn't get out... got my coffee and walked to work... Guess who parked 50m away...

Not that petty to do damage, but I did advise the parking inspector she was not shopping here and had walked to work.

Just to add, yes it is very frustrating and It annoys me, but they are cars, dints are a part of their life... Hopefully it's the worse thing you will experience while you own it

I understand the pain !! especially when u took the time to park the car. Hence Why I always park corner spots. Even if the carpark is quite full i'm still determine to searching for a corner lot, Unless i'm just gonna dash in and out.

Garage List
2009 135i  [9.00]
Bought the wife a new Subaru Liberty Wagon. The day after we picked it up, some faceless prick rammed their trolley into it, leaving a dent and scratch. There's no way they didn't know. There are so many low life's in this world.

I had a new car a few years back, got keyed after owning it for 4 weeks.

You should be able to electrify your car!

At least with most petty theft, it is mostly done by junkies - so you can always hope that they OD on the drugs that were purchased from your stolen goods!!!
